"Okay." Jake said shoving his hands into his pockets. He stared at her for a moment. "You look pretty today."

Ashton's eyes had landed on the familiar pair at last. He nudged Ashlee. "Hey look. Awkward staredown."

He couldn't hear Jake over the busy lobby and they were a few feet away. Jake said something and Ashton saw Evelyn simply stare at him for a moment, looking flustered.

"What - ?" Evelyn shook her head, bewildered. The awkward ice was definitely broken. Where had that come from? Her lips twitched reluctantly into a grin.

She managed a laugh and stepped forward, reaching up on her tiptoes to give the tall Spaniard a hug. "I appreciate that attempt," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck for a moment. "And God damn it, I need to wear heels more often or you need to lose a few inches."

Jacob responded by smiling, and giving Evelyn a hug back. Wrapping his arms around her. "Hey I need my long dancers legs."

"Awww look it that. " Ashlee snapped a picture of them."I've never seen a happier divorced pair, have you?" Ashlee joked sending the picture to Facebook.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oh, are you doing the papara - never mind," Ashton said, laughing as he leaned over to look at her phone. The photo uploaded. "They're gonna killl us. When should we hijack their gag moment?"

Evelyn pulled away before she could inhale too much of Jake's familiar cologne and forget they were supposedly friends-only. She landed on her feet and stepped back a respectable distance, hoping he wasn't noticing her almost-permanently red cheeks the whole time they'd been here.

"You know, I have never seen you dance solo," she said. "I mean, besides when you're drunk. But other than that, you're waltzing with me."

Like on that damn wedding night, she suddenly remembered and a knot tied itself in her stomach. Evelyn pushed all memories of that night away.

"I think I've earned a solo performance, Shakiro," she commented.

"Heyyy, Lassie? Come look!" Seth exclaimed, jumping off the hood of the car and walking over to Lola after locking both cars. Lola was near the decorated backseat of Ashton's car. Seth showed her the Facebook photo Ashlee had just put up. "How cosy."

Lola looked over at Seth's phone and smiled. God why couldn't those two just stay together?! "They're idiots."

"Ooh you wanna see me dance? I am an excellent dancer." Jacob bragged.

"Yeah let's go, those two can go on forever. Hey the former Ducks! Over here!" Ashlee yelled waving them down.

Seth grunted, more annoyed than anything. "Why is Jake evne listening to her mushy girl excuses?"

Evelyn turned and peered aorund Jake, eyes widening and jaw dropping. What the hell were Ashlee and...Ashton? doing here? "Um...did you invite escorts?" she asked Jake, leading the way over to them.

"No... I thought maybe you did?" Jacob said walking over to Ashton and Ashlee. "Hey guys what's up?"

"Hey congrats on your divorce!" Ashlee cheered.

"Cause he still likes her, and Jake is weak when it comes to girls." Lola said, looking down at her phone.

Evelyn faltered, not really sure what to say to this. Although she didn't really have much of a mood to celebrate it...

Ashton slung an arm around Jake and began leading the way out. "We got all the works ready. Streamers, alcohol, people. And guess what - it's a mobile party."

Evelyn threw Ashlee a quizzical look.

"It's in my car," Ashton exclaimed, putting in extra enthusiasm and raising his eyebrows at Ashlee.

"Yeah we figured you guys seemed glum, its time to celebrate. Feel good, quit moping! So lets hop on out!" Ashlee whooped slinging her arm around Evelyn.


Jacob exchanged a look with Evelyn, "Um, you guys shouldn't have. But who the hell is gonna drive if we're all getting drunk?"

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oh, I'm not drinking, dude, don't wanna crash and kill us," Ashton reassured him confidently, stepping out of the lobby and across the parking lot.

"They're here," Seth announced. He had been leaning against the hood of Ashton's car, keeping watch across the parking lot.

Antonio threw confetti everywhere as Jacob and Evelyn approached them. "Whooo here come the guests of honor!"

Jacob narrowed his eyes at Antonio and Lola pushed herself off the hood and waved at Jake.

Ashlee cleared her throat. "ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! WE ARE HERE TO CELEBRATE THE RECENTLY DIVORCED! SO LETS PARTY!"

Evelyn laughed; Ashlee's enthusiasm was catching. Evelyn turned and shrugged at Jake, and then said, "Isn't it kind of cold out here to be partying?"

"Riiiight!" Seth announced, pulling open the passenger seat door. He pulled out a bottle and thrust a bag of disposable cups at Antonio to hold as he began pouring the mixed drink out and passing the cups around. "Bottoms uuup! We're gonna get inside in a minute, everyone just build that buzz, huh?"

He threw back his own glass (a mix of hard liquor, orange juice and rum), and thumped Jake on the shoulder ecstatically. "REFILL!"

Ashton stifled a laugh at the look on Evleyn's face and sat down on the snow-coated hood of his car, shoving his hands into his pockets. Evelyn stared down at her glass and then up at everyone else. Seth shot her an expectant look.

She didn't want to be a buzzkill. They'd all come out here for her and Jake (aolbeit for weird reasons, but still) but she was kind of afraid to get drunk. A little couldn't hurt her and she knew her limit.

She sipped her cup slowly as Seth got a round of refills. Evelyn shivered. Partying out in the cold sounded crazier now.

Jake decided why the hell not, he sort of had a crappy weekend, and this on top of it. Hell he needed a drink. Jake quickly drank down the strong liquour before holding his cup out for a refill. If Ashton was driving he trusted him with his car, or whoever.


Ashlee pat Evelyn's shoulder, "Come on Ev! You're a single lady! Don't drink like my granny. I know you can chug." She said trying to encourage her.

"WHOO!! CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" Antonio chanted.

Lola laughed taking a sip of the drink, as she went to sit next to Ashton. "So I decided for the wedding, I want doves." She decided pull his leg a bit since Antonio and Seth had been bugging her. She looked up, chocolate eyes filled with laughter.

Ashton didn't really catch on at first since he was laughing at Seth and Antonio, who were now both attempting to encourage Evelyn to drink by changing "CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!"

He looked down at Lola, off-guard. "Oh, congrats?"

Wait, what?!

Evelyn flashed a smile and took another sip of her drink , which seemed to placate Seth and Antonio. Seth busied himself swigging a third cup and refilling Jake's before Jake had even finished his. Evelyn walked past them to brush some snow off the trunk of Ashton's car and placed her cup down on it, pulling herself up beside it.

"When was all this organized?" she called over to Ashlee with amusement, over the boys' raucous voices.

Jacob drank his third cup and was really starting to feel it now. "Seth you're the best for real bitch." Jake said slinging his arm around his blond friend.

"Oh about an hour or so ago." Ashlee said standing near Evelyn. "Come on girl celebrate."

Lola laughed at the idiots and she said to Ashton. "Yeah apparently Seth and Tony want us to get married, I mean if the idiots are planning a wedding I at least want some doves."

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn obliged Ashlee and lifted her cup to her lips again, glancing over at the progressively drunker boys.

"Whoo - yeah!" Seth cheered, ignoring the attention they were getting from a few passers by.

"Oh shit!" Ashton exclaimed, leaping off the hood. "Lola - we're underage, drinking in the middle of a fucking parking lot right out front of a lawyer's office!"

He turned and grabbed Jake and Seth by their arms. "GET INSIDE!" He pulled open the backseat of the car and shoved them in.

Seht yelped and swigged down his drink, tossing the cup out onto the snow as he tumbled into the scented backseat. "Oooh, look, iz purty," he chirped to Jake - and then oomfed because Ashton had shoved Jake on top of him.

"Gerrof!" Seth squawked underneath the Spaniard's stomach.

"Guys, we have to go now," Ashton said to the girls, shoving Antonio in. "You'll have to pile in. Lola, can you drive the Mustang?" He reached in and grabbed Jake's keys from his pocket, tossing them at her.

Remembering that Evelyn shouldn't see the decor (Jake was drunk and didn't count), Ashton added, "Take Evelyn and Ashlee with you. We'll drive back to campus and party over there!"

Evelyn discreetly tipped her liquor onto the snow and set down her empty glass while no one was looking. She hopped off the trunk.

Jake pulled himself off Seth, as Antonio attempted to buckle himself in the front seat.

Jake's eyes widened and he gasped. "Oh my gawd, its beautiful!"

"Yeah I can drive it." Lola said catching Jake's keys and unlocking his doors.

"Come on ladies!" She said, Ashlee followed her getting into the back seat of Jacob's car. Lola waited until both girls were in the car before starting the engine.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn had taken her old seat in the passenger seat of the Mustang.

Ashton drove out of the parking lot and back toward campus.

Seth was pouring more liquor into cups in the backseat, encouraging Jake by clinking cheers with him every now and then.

But Ashton noted Seth had slowed down his own drinking and was more focused on getting Jake piss-drunk.

"Here's to bachelorhoooood!" Seth cheered as they reached campus, clinking his cup against Jake and Antonio's.

Evelyn was puzzling over this whole thing in Jake's car as Lola drove. "So, uh, why could this not have waited until we got home?" she wondered.
