If Evelyn had had an inkling of sense, she would have just shut up. But the day she actually listened to Jake wasn't exactly here yet, so she set her jaw and trekked after him.

She had the urge to slap his face red. He made no sense whatsoever! Why was he so damn pissed? Why had he punched James, who was clearly drunk and not in control of what he was saying?

She felt a wave of frustrated confusion pass through her. She didn't get him at all! Evelyn sidestepped Jake and ended up in front of him, barring his way. Before he could move away, she spoke quickly. "One question. Why did you punch James? You knew he was drunk and babbling nonsense. None of it was true."

Jake froze he didn't want to tell Evelyn that he punched James because even though James was drunk, his words had cut through him like that damn knife Ryder had used on him. He always felt like James still liked her, and that she still liked him. So it drove him a little crazy knowing that he would never be that guy, the one she would choose.

Its why he punched James, to make him shut up. Even though he was drunk and probably didn't mean a thing he said. "Cause he was being an idiot that's why." Jake said harshly side stepping her, avoiding her eyes.

She simply stared at him. What could she possibly say to that? It made perfect sense because Jake was so damn short-tempered.

Her heart felt like it dropped to her stomach. Evelyn suddenly decided she'd had enough. She was never one to chase stupid feelings or try to sort them out. All it did was hurt her in return every time Jake opened his mouth. She was sick of the verbal lashes.

So she simply stepped away from him and walked over to where her and Ashlee's stuff lay. Ashlee had apparently left hers here still and Evelyn wasn't sure if Ashlee was still here so she grabbed both their coats and bags and headed for the exit without a word, feeling the strain of furious tears behind her stinging eyelids building up every single second she was around Jake.

She did, however, deliberately elbow his uninjured side as she passed, and stomped on his feet as she reached the exit.

"I don't know where he is," Ashton was saying to Luke outside The Palms as they got into their limo. "He didn't text me back yet. I hope he's okay."

"Go make a round of Rain and see if you can spot him?"

Ashton nodded and headed back inside the hotel toward Rain.

Jake scowled at the back of Evelyn's head, of course. She always had to get her last hits in on him. He could never win a damn argument with her could he? Oh whatever. He was so sick of her on and off again, fickle attitude he really didn't care anymore. She could think whatever the hell she wanted about him. She thought he was the spawn of Satan, then that was exactly what he was. He wanted to push her over that ledge so she would die? Fine.


Jake was turning around to leave when he heard a female voice say, "That's him, he's the one who called me a slut."

"Hey, you have a problem buddy!" He heard a deep voice growl from behind him.

Jake turned around and saw the girl that he had been with earlier, standing next to a douche bag who was glaring at him. Jake arched an eyebrow, "Um I have no problem, and your girl is a slut bro. Especially since she's the one who decided to pull me off to dance." Jake sneered, seriously what the fuck was it with the idiots here.

"That's why you hit on me?" She said defensively.

Jake shrugged, "Hey I take it back then, you're ugly and a slut if that's what you wanna hear. Plus it wasn't me that called you a slut, it was my best friend but I guess he was right."

It didn't take much for this girls boyfriend to snap at Jake, he had managed to get a punch into Jake's jaw. Jake quickly retaliated by grabbing the guy's arm and flipping him over like he had done to James on more than one occasion. Although given Jake's current state, he really shouldn't be flipping any guys over, or fighting for that fact.

And since this guy wasn't James, he had only needed a moment to recover from being thrown like a rag doll to lunge at Jake and catch him in a choke hold, and punch him repeatedly in his injured side.

Evelyn reached the hallway outside Rain and texted Ashlee, finding out she was waiting out front, so Evelyn carefully wiped her wet eyes and hurried out front.

She passed Ashton going the other way. "Where's Jake?" he asked. She blinked at him.

"Probably just behind me," she said quietly. She didn't give a shit where he was.

Ashton headed on to the club, leaving Evelyn to head outside.

She blinked at the limo Ashlee were standing by. "What....the hell?" James was inside.

Ashton found Jake just as security ensconced him and the guy he was fighting with. Ashton caught the Spaniard and held him up because Jake looked terrible. Or rather, his side did.

"You FUCKING MANIAC!" Ashton swore over the guards' shoulders at the other huge guy. "He was FUCKING HOSPITALIZED WEEKS AGO AND YOU JUST NAILED HIM ONE RIGHT THERE!"

"Now that's not fair, dawg," Seth said suddenly, standing just behind the guards with Antonio. Seth turned to face the hulking linebacker dude, and before security could stop him, had smashed his martini glass over the guy's head. The guy swore and clutched at his head, collapsing to his knees.

For the second time that night, Seth hollered, "RUN, TIGGER!" and bolted to Rain's exit, followed by three security guards and a bouncer. The two girls he'd been with trailed after him, giggling.

Ashton held Jake up and dragged him to the exit, escorted by more guards. "Yeah, we're leaving," he muttered furiously.

"Yeah the boys have a limo... come on lets get inside." Ashlee motioned Evelyn grabbing her coat and purse from Evelyn and stepping inside the limo.

Jake nearly collapsed from the pain in his side, but there was no way he was coming off weak to this bastard! Even if the guy was five times his size. Jake shoved Ashton aside and let out a loud yell charging at the guy who had attacked him he had fallen to his knees and Jake jumped on him shoving his knee into the guys ribs

He just pounded his fists against this guys face, blood was pouring out of his nose and mouth, he delivered a powerful right hook to his jaw and heard a crack, he punched him in the nose another crack. Jake didn't know why he lost it on this fucking jerk, but he was so livid at the damned bastard that he just kept hitting him. It took three guards to rip Jake off of the guy, "GET OUT OF HERE NOW! BEFORE WE CALL THE COPS!"

As the guards tried to hold him back, Jake spat on the guy and they shoved him out of the club doors. People clearing the way when they saw him. He looked like he had just murdered someone, his hands covered in the other guys blond and even traces of his own blood were on his face where the guy had punched him.

Jake had lifted his shirt to see if his side was okay, and it wasn't, there was fresh blood oozing from one of the stitches. He pulled his shirt down and figured he'd go to the hospital alone and not worry any of them. Since he had already done enough damage for the night.

Ashton didn't say anything but simply placed a hand on Jake's shoulder and steered him to the exit. "C'mon, limo's waiting. We can stop at the hospital. "

When they got ot the limo, Seth and Antonio were in there, alongside the two girls and James and Luke. Ashton got in last after shoving Jake lightly into a seat and the driver shut the door.

There was a momentary silence while Ashton picked up the receiver and informed the driver ot take them to the nearest hospital.

"Fuuuck," Seth said, whistling softly as he looked Jake over.

"He got into it again," Ashton informed his brother and Seth. To Ashlee, Evelyn, James and Luke, he said, "Just a small disagreement that didn't end on a truce."

Evelyn shifted in her seat beside Ashlee uncomfortably, looking down at her lap. She laced her fingers together as the limo swung into the road, her eyes flicking anxiously from the ground to Jake before she dropped her gaze to her hands again.

Ashton reached into the ice compartment of the bar section of the limo and made a makeshift ice bag for Jake, handing it over to him to press to his side and numb the pain.

"Say, Red?" Seth slurred as they sped along. "Wazz you doin' in Sin City, babe?" Aint no place fo' virgins."

Evelyn didn't even have the effort to blush at this. She simply shrugged. "Came for a getaway." Some getaway this is.

Seth glanced between Jake and Evelyn for a long moment, while everyone else sat uncomfortably (except James, who was happily drunk).

"My gawd," Seth exploded suddenly, throwing his hands in the air. "Just fuck and get over it already! The sexual tension is driving us crazy!"

Ashton choked and tried to stifle his laugh as a cough. Evelyn's face paled of color and she kept her eyes on her lap.

"I don't need to go to the hospital." Jake muttered staring out the window holding the ice to his side, "I'm fine it was nothing." Jake ignored Seth's obnoxious comments he didn't want to deal with it at all he just wanted to lay down, he was sure it was nothing.

Ashlee's eyes widened but she kept silent, boy some birthday this turned out to be.

James snorted, still drunk. "Hey if she won't do it with me what makes you think she'll do it with him?"

Jake glared daggers at James, he was really lucky that he didn't feel like fighting otherwise James would be dead at this moment.
