"Yeah she was there, she was wandering around there. You'll probably meet her when we go back to Brooklyn. And maybe my mom if she's home too." Lola said to him, as they entered the elevator.

Ashton looked at Lola, horror on his face. "Your mom?" he asked. "Uhh, okay." He'd survived Jake. He figured he could take Lola's mom.

Evelyn stopped walking on the third floor landing, turning to gape at Jake, flabbergasted. "Oh my God," she said, and then repeated herself. "Oh my God! He did not just "whatever" me!" She threw up her hands and stormed up the sitars.

"I DID!" Jake yelled stomping louder to match Evelyn's rage.

Lola saw the look of terror on Ashton's face and stifled a giggle. "Don't worry, my mom is a nurse so she works weird hours. You'll most likely end up just meeting Liv."

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oh, okay," Ashotn said, brightening. "Wait, Seht mentioned meeting your sister to me. Although I'm guessing his meeting was somewhat exaggerated," he added wiht a snicker.

Seth was getting Lucifer to bounce around various pieces of luggage leftover in their suite. "Yo, Tigga!" he called. "What're you doing here? Shouldn't you be leaving?"

Luke texted James as he was finishing hauling his stuff to the curb and flagging down a cab. Where u at?

Carrie, meanwhile, had sauntered up to James, ditching her Swede escort, and poked his shoulder. "Hey Pretty Boy," she greeted him. "Where'd Lyn run off to? And you do know you're supposed to check into your hotel room before one, right? Else they'll give it away."

Evelyn cringed and looked over her shoulder. Asshole. Her short temper was instantly spiked.

"I don't need your "whatever" help," she said to him firmly. "I can handle it on my own!"

"Pft! Yeah right! The Incredible "Dainty" Hulk!" Jake yelled at Evelyn.

"Oh crap are you serious!? Ugh!" James took out his phone reading Luke's message. In lobby I need to get a cab and get to hotel and not lose room! Jame sent back frantically. "Uh be right back, uh watch my stuff thanks!" He said to Carrie quickly bolting out of the lobby.

"Oh really, what did he say about her?" Lola wondered what that big mouth was up to, but at the same time she didn't want to know.

"I'm done. I'm just waiting for Ash, he's busy playing bell boy to his lovah." Antonio snickered coming out of his old room with his last remaining luggage in his hand.

[Tiger-Lily]

"I am gonna miss this place," Seth said as he looked around the living area, sprawling on the couch. "Man, do you remember that one time Connor brought over like five girls? That was so sweet!" He grinned.

Luke snickered at James' text. I'll check in our room. Dont worry about it. I'm on my way he replied, looking up in relief as a cab stopped in front of him. He began piling his things into the trunk and the cabbie got out to aid him.

Ashton smirked down at Lola. "He said she was hot."

Evelyn's jaw dropped. That prick! I'll show him dainty after he's flipping over the banisters down three floors!

She controlled her violent thoughts with some difficulty and settled for slamming the fifth floor stairwell door in Jake's face as he reached it behind her.

She flipped him off through the glass window and marched down the hall to her suite, smirking.

"Oh yeah the night Jake decided to get all Van Goh on my face?" Antonio snorted thinking back on the first night him and his brother had moved into the dorms.

Lola shook her head, "Typical."

"OW!!!" Jake yelled rubbing his nose, that had really hurt! He scowled at her when he saw her smirking down the hall, and kicked open the door stomping down the hall after her. "OH YES! Why would I ever think you were DAINTY! You can be so freaking butch sometimes!"

Ashton nudged Lola with a grin. "Well, he said your mom was hot too, if that makes it any better," he added.

Seth snickeredd. "Oh yeahh, good times, man. I seem to remember a lot of glitter for some reason..." He trailed off and sat up. "Well, that aside, we did have some sane times here." He paused and tried to think of one. "Like..."

Ten different people shot Jake odd glances and Evelyn felt her face warm. Asshole.

She shoved her key into her lock and pushed the door open, fully intending to lock Jake out - except she kind of needed to be able to exit the place with her luggage. "I'm sorry, princess!" she called back to Jake, ducking around Nova and grabbing a duffel bag and a suitcase.

Luke had just finished stowing his stuff when he spotted James running across the quad. Luke put two fingers in his mouth and whistled. "OY! DARKO!"

James looked up hearing someone call his name and saw his tall friend. "Hey Luke." James said panting running up to him.

"Uhhhhh....." Antonio said drawing blanks trying to remember the last sane moment they ever had in this dorm was pretty hard. Especially with all the drinking these boys did.

"That creep." Lola snorted, then again she was around Seth when he did hit on her mom a couple of times.

***

Jake pulled faces at Evelyn and looked down at Nova. "How did you handle such an aggressive mother?"

[Tiger-Lily]

"Where's all your stuff?" Luke asked James as he was abotu to sit in the back of the cab. "I'm headed over to the hotel and I'll check in for us. And have you seen Ev and Carrie? Ev won't answer her phone."

"Yeah, I give," Seth muttered, leaping to hsi feet. He rummaged in his backpack a moment and then extracted his skull mask he'd packed right at the top. "Oh, by the way, Dane told me his parents are having a rooftop party next Friday. He said I should bring friends, more of the female persuasion but you guys are cool. You in?"

"What'd your mom think of him?" Ashton asked curiously.

Evelyn replied by thrusting about three bags and a suitcase into Jake's arms. "You can take those," she chirped at him, before grabbing the remaining two suitcases and Nova's leash. "I'll come back for the dog carrier," she added nicely. "Wouldn't want you to break a nail."

"Only Ken dolls and bitchy Barbie's break their nails." Jake said curtly, taking her things and walking out of her suite.

James was panting for a moment trying to catch his breath. "I why... didn't you tell me! That you were gonna go and Carrie is watching my stuff for me." James stopped and took a deep breath and went on to answer the rest of Luke's question. "Oh Ev is still moving her stuff downstairs and Jake is helping her." He said rolling his eyes.

"My mom and Jake's mom aren't exactly big fans of Seth. My sister is dented she thinks Seth is funny." Lola said, with a laugh.

"Hell yeah I'm down for a party!" Antonio chirped.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Feel free to bring a date," Seht said, winking at ANtonio and pulling on his skull head. He grinned and held out his hands, making clawing motions at the air. "No, really, Dane said there would be a whole ballroom dancefloor thing, and with these sort of cocktail parties, there always is."

Luke smirked at James and got into the cab. "I texted you about my getting - wait, Ev's with him?" He remembered suddenly what Ashton had said about Jake earlier. "That'd explain a lot, you know. Ashton told me just a while ago that apparently..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "Never mind."

"Seht is funny, though," Ashton pointed out before he could stop himself. The elevator stopped at te lobby and he began hoisting Lola's luggage out of it. "Even if he does give you a hernia."

Evelyn frowned at Jake's tone. The hell? She followed after him, but changed her mind and ditched Nova again, locking her suite up before she followed Jake to the elevator with her two suitcases and hit the call button, dodging someone's bags. "You can put those down for a minute," she said evenly. "Elevator's on the ground floor."

"Oh well I probably didn't get it since I was sprinting across campus." James said pulling out his phone and seeing the message from Luke, hating that he had now run all the way over here. "Wait what were you saying about them?" He asked about Jake and Evelyn.

"Oh yeah nothing is funnier than a hernia." Lola laughed.

"Oooh its a fancy pants party? Does that mean I need to take my tux out of moth balls?" Antonio grinned.

Jake nodded setting Evelyn's luggage down carefully on the ground, leaning against the wall and cracking his knuckles.

Luke hesitated and then the cabbie turned around.

"Buddy, you goin' anywhere today?" he asked grumpily. Luke cringed. He'd forgotten he was sitting in a damn cab!

"I'll tell you at the hotel," he said to James hastily. To the cabbie, he gave the hotel address he'd written on a slip of paper. "Here."

Luke pulled the door shut and waved at James as he belted himself in. The cab pulled away.

"You don't need a tux," Seth said, shrugging. "Maybe a dinner jacket, though, it gets cold up on the roof."

Ashton huffed a little as he shoved Lola's bags across the lobby. "What do you have in here, anyway, a bench press set?" he wondered.

Carrie looked up where she was sitting on James' suitcase next to a tall, blond boy. "Lola! Ashton!" she called, waving at them. She got up and sauntered over. "This is Jordan," she introduced him. Ashton and Jordan nodded briefly at each other. "And that's Lola and Ashton," Carrie added. She skipped the part where Lola and Ashton knew the kid who had beaten up Jordan and Tallin in the park.

"You need a hand?" Jordan asked, eying the large mound of bags Ashton was holding somewhat painfully. "I haven't anything to unpack and Carrie's all done." He shrugged.

Evelyn set down her suitcases and examined Jake for a moment. "You're not planning on using one of those on James, are you?" she asked, trying to make it sound like a joke but she was half-afraid it wasn't.

"Uh thanks." James said sighing, turning to walk back to the dorms.

Antonio nodded. "Cool sounds like fun."

"Hi Jordan, uh yeah sure you can help if you don't mind." Lola gave him a friendly smile.

"If he gives me a reason to, I will." Was Jake's response.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oooh, you knwo what, I remember one sane incident I had during a big event here," Seth declared triumphantly, leaning against the wall. "The bonfire! That was Red and Jake's night to raise hell! And it was spectacular!" he added happily, remembering Jake and Evelyn's foodfight in the middle of a huge audience - they seemed to like publicizing their torrential love affair.

Jordan grabbed some of Lola's bags and between him and Ashton, they managed to carry them out ot the quad, Carrie pausing to stay behind with James' luggage.

"Be right back," Ashton called to Lola. "We'll just put these in my car."

Carrie waved him off and then grinned at Lola. "So are you two a thing now or what?" she asked bluntly as ever.

Evelyn frowned at Jake's answer. "He is being fairly decent about this, you know?" she said carefully, not wanting to spike Jake's short fuse as she absently rubbed the scar on her left forearm. "Considering he knows nothing about why you acted the way you did, he's actually being polite. You could cut him some slack."

"Carrie!" Lola blushed, although Ashton had left. " I don't know I mean, I don't wanna pressure him its summer you know and maybe he doesn't wanna be exclusive and stuff." Lola said shifting her feet around.

"Please he's only being civil because he's in front of you? You know that right? I mean if you hadn't been there he probably would have punched me or been a prick. So really, I could care less because its all just an act." Jake said honestly, he knew that James was trying to just work an angle to look like the "nice guy." Jake wasn't gonna fall for it.

"But you skateboarded off a ledge, over a fire onto me. You don't remember that? " Antonio said narrowing his eyes at Seth.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Well, you've been a sort-of-thing since you got cosy on Seth's yacht," Carrie stated simply. "Is Jake still a problem or what? I thought he was all mellow again."

Seth blinked at him. "I...did? I wouldn't do that!" He frowned. "Would I?"

***

"No, it's not!" Evelyn said, a little more harshly than she intended. "James might be manipulative, but he's actually a pretty nice guy. And he has no reason to fake around me anymore. That's all over and done with!" she added shortly, crossing her arms over her green cardi.

[Guest]

"Yes you would! You don't remember that! How could you not?!" Antonio exclaimed, flailing his arms.

"Well not that cozy, I mean all that happened was I took him to a room and he passed out and I fell asleep cause I was tired." Lola admitted, and of course they had kissed a few times. "Well Jake is okay I guess, he likes Ashton but I don't know I don't want to rush anything."

"How do you even know that?! I mean he's manipulated and lied to you before. How do you know he's not doing it again? I don't trust him. So I don't care. " Jake stated angrily.

[Tiger-Lily]

"It's been, what, three, four months?" Carrie asked vaguely. "Believe me, rushing is the last thing you're doing."

"Well, because I was watching Jake and Red!" Seth exclaimed. "They're like cable soap operas! Like - like King Fu Panda meets The Hills! 'Course I'm not gonna remember anything else!"

Evelyn opened he rmouth furiously - and the lift doors slid open. SHe looked up and saw that it was chock-full of someone else's stuff.

She waved at them adn the lift doors closed. A moment later, after it had continued downwards, she hit the call button again, not looking at Jake.

She felt her stomach churn inside her though. It'd been a while since they'd had a serious fight. She was only nwo remembering how ugly things had been last semester, with her and Jake constantly fighting, physically sometimes, and harassing each other. She rubbed her hands over her face and looked up at him wearily. His eyes were almost shooting sparks, he was clearly that enraged. She understood it wasn't some small aggravation with James that had bee bothering Jake.

She was already worn out from carting luggage. She didn't want to add on additional trauma!

She stepped around her suitcase and over to Jake, and before he could move away, had slipped her arms around his waist somewhat feebly. She gave him a slight squeeze, looking up into his face. "After reaming me out on Seth's yacht, you really think James would waste his time on a siren like me?" she asked plaintively.

Lola sighed, twirling the end of her hair around her finger. "Well okay fine we're not rushing .But what if he doesn't want a relationship. I'll feel stupid for asking or bringing it up then it will make things awkward and he'll probably ignore me then after that." Lola stopped herself from rambling any further. She couldn't help it though it had been awhile since she had dated someone.


James had come back from the street and saw Carrie standing with Lola he waved at both the girls. "Thanks Carrie." He said standing near his stuff.

"Well you got that right." Antonio had to agree with Seth on that one. Jake and Evelyn were always constantly entertaining them.

Jake's shoulders slumped hearing Evelyn talk like this, it made him upset. She was nice and he hated how everyone seemed to give her so much crap. Not that he was any better about it. Jake wrapped his arms around her in a comforting hug, "James is stupid to not want you."

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn blinked and falteredd a moment, unsure how she should take this. It was a friendly comment from a friend, she reminded herself.

So she simply flashed Jake a small smile but said nothing because she knew James had had a point. She was trouble and she always had been. "Well, what I was trying to say is, James isn't interested. Not anymore. So he won't be faking nice."

"True," Carrie said, breaking it off as she spotted James. "Oh, hey, no problem. Man, have you heard from Lyn? I keep waiting down here for her to bring her damn crap down so Jordan and I can load it up on a cab and she won't answer her damn cell!"

Seth, bored with sitting around, decided to go prowling through the halls with his cape and skull head mask.

He waved at Antonio and stepped into the hallway.

A few startled yelps followed and Seth smirked to himself, setting off down the hallway past gawking people and pale-cheeked girls who jumped out of his way.

"I guess." Jake shrugged, forgetting that he was still holding Evelyn.

"I don't know, I saw her leave and Jake followed her like a puppy." James said, shrugging.


"I uh think he was helping her move her stuff, they do live on the same floor. Well they used to." Lola added, not really liking James' tone.

James just shrugged, taking out his phone so he could call a cab.

Antonio laughed following behind Seth, taking out his phone and recording Seth.

Carrie blinked at James' tone. Then it occured to her that James probably disapproved of Evelyn hanging with a guy like Jake.

"Nah, knowing them, they're probably bickering again," she said.

"Isn't this," Seth said in a low, growly voice unlike his own, pausing to examine the entwined couple before him, "a cutesy sight?"

Evelyn's eyes widened when she took in his skull mask and she pulled free of Jake hastily, cheeks burning maroon. What the hell was this?

James had finished calling for the cab and overheard Carrie." I don't care." He said.

"Spring love!" Antonio announced, putting his phone away as they reached Jake and Evelyn.

Jacob pulled away from Evelyn, looking away rubbing the back of his neck. "Seth what are you doing?" Jake asked wanting to change the topic.
