"Last-second scares is what," Seth answered in a duh tone. He strutted past Jake and Evelyn in his robed glory, cackling evilly. "Watch this, watch me!"

Despite herself, Evelyn turned around to look.

The lift doors opened. Seth peered through them as they did, spotted the two girls inside who were headed upstairs, and let out a horrible, wailing cry, skull mask grinning and robed hands clawing the air.

"AAAHHHH!" the girls screamed - and he doubled over laughing. Evelyn fought hard to keep her grin off her face and failed. She burst into laughter.

"You ASSHOLE!" one of the girls screeched. She jabbed the Close button while Seth danced a victory jig.

Carrie shot James a sour look. "Oh quit bitching," she said blatantly. "So you hate Jake, we get that. Ev and I have a week left in New York. Do us a favour and don't ruin it!"

Jacob started cracking up, when he saw the girls reaction. "God damn it Seth." Jake laughed a bit more before taking a breath to stifle his laughter.

"I'll do what I want, and don't worry I won't ruin it for you guys." James said to Carrie, really he didn't care too much about doing much else here. He kinda just wanted to go back to Ash Creek and head off to Europe.

Carrie let out a huff and then turned to Lola. "So anyway, back to the topic. I was just wondering why you guys are taking it so slow when really, isn't that half a sign a guy is afraid to get serious - or he isn't serious in the first place?"

Seth bowed and then rose and pulled off his skull mask. "Thank you, thank you!" he remarked, pretending to catch roses from an imaginary audience. Evelyn shook her head, grinning and then punched the call button of the lift. For the third time.

"At this rate, I'm never going to leave," she commented to Jake mildly. "We keep letting the damn elevator go and it takes a year to come back up."

"Hey, we can carry some of your shit downstairs - or just throw it over the banisters?" Seth suggested, eyes twinkling. Evelyn's smile was instantly replaced with a look of tolerant anger.

Seth threw up his hands. "Just a suggestion."

"Or we can be nice and carry them down the stairs." Jake suggested with a pointed glance.

"I don't mind, its not like we're doing anything better." Antonio said eying Seth.

"I don't know, see its because the only reason why I've been taking things slow was one, Jake, and two I haven't been in a relationship in awhile so I don't know. " Lola shrugged, rubbing her arm.

"We can wait for the - " Evelyn protested, feeling guilty abotu makign them all shoulder her lugagge.

Seth interrupted. "The STAIRS!"

He bent, snatched up the two suitcases she was carrying, tossed her his skull mask and grabbed a duffel bag from the pile Jake had held. He then shoved past them and to the stairwell,, putting down a suitcase to throw the door open. "TO THE LOBBY, YOUNG PADAWAN!" he announced to either Antonio or Jake, disappearing into the stairwell.

Evelyn stared after him, dumbfounded.

Jake shook his head grabbing the remaining bags handing one to Antonio, who just laughed following after Seth to make sure he didn't break anything.

Jake just looked down at Evelyn. "Hey at least he's helping." He snickered, going into the stairwell after Antonio.

After much parading down the sitars, Evelyn having run back to her suite to grab Nova's carrier and the beagle, giving her suite a final lookover and following the boys again, they reached the lobby.

Carrie frowned at Lola's comment and could see where her hesitation came from. Still, if there was one thing worse than coming off too desperate was coming off disinterested.

She looked up when the stairwell door banged open and Seth came out, followed by Antonio. Jake trailed after them, all three boys carrying luggage. Behind Jake came Nova and Evelyn. Nova seemed to be refusing to get into his dog carrier, so Evelyn scowled and walked him to the lobby doors because the Don on duty looked up and glared at her.

"I'm leaving!" she exclaimed. "It's the last day!"

The Don frowned and looked away and Evelyn smiled brightly, following the rambunctious boys carrying what Carrie was sure was her luggage.

Seth glanced over at Lola and Carrie, and then at James, and proceeded right past them to the doors.

"Thanks," Evelyn beamed at the boys, as he dropped his load outside the lobby doors since there was really no space left in the building.

"Did you call a cab?" Seth asked, brushing his hair out of his eyes. Evelyn pulled out her phone, trying to fight Nova's sudden yank on his leash. She reached over and tied the leash around Jake's wrist and then returned to fiddling with her phone. "Um, no, I wasn't sure how long it'd take me to get this stuff down here."

Nova yanked so hard on the leash, the bags Jake was carrying nearly ended on toppling onto the beagle.

Carrie, meanwhile, had waved at James and headed out of the lobby to where Evelyn and the boys stood. "Lucky girl," she commented. "You got free slave labor!"

"Shit! Nova!" Jake yelled almost dropping Evelyn's bag, he tugged hard on Nova's leash to get him to stop tugging and set down Evelyn's bags.

Lola laughed. "Yeah no kidding." As she saw the boys all tumble on out of the building, having followed Carrie out with the others.

James had grabbed his bags and was heading out of the lobby he really didn't feel like being around Jake or the others, besides he didn't want the cab he had called to leave if it had come.


"Hey my offer still stands if you want me to help you move things to your hotel, I have my car." Jake said holding onto Nova firmly as the dog squirmed.

Ashton came back at that moment, wiht Jordan trailing behind him as they chatted. "Hey," Ashton greeted James in passing, quirkign an eyebrow when he noticed his psycho dorm-mates standing nearby. "Need a hand, dude?"

Evelyn had glanced up, watching James and she cringed. James already disliked Jake enough. Her hanging with Jake and Seth would go over real well.

She looked up at Jake, uncertain. She'd have loved to be saved the hassle of a cab but...

It was as she was thinking this that she noticed Carrie giving her a pointed look, quirking an eyebrow as if to ask, what are you waiting for?

Then Seth walked over to Jake and commented, "Ash is fraternizing with da enemy!"

"No I'm good. Thanks though." James said, although he could have used the help he was fine on his own, as he walked past him.

Jake looked up and spotted Ashton talking to James, honestly he didn't care. "So?" He shrugged.

Ashton shrugged and walked over to the other boys. Seth was glowering at James' back. Ashton rolled his eyes and looked over at Lola. "We got your stuff packed away."

Evelyn, who had been standing with her phone in her hand, blinked at Ashton's companion. her eyes flew to Jake's, and she wondered idly if Jake recalled -

"It's you!" Jordan exclaimed, glaring at Jake and Ashton blinked, confused. Seth threw Jake a curious glance and Evelyn groaned internally.

She was thinking she should take a cab. Jake didn't seem to be in the greatest mood and clearly, neither was James.

Jake instantly recognized the Swedish dude and smirked. "Oh hey, want me to give you an autograph like I did for your friend?"

"Thanks." Lola said distracted watching as Jake responded to Jordan.

Seth perked up brightly. "Ooh, is this one of the dudes from the park?" he demanded of Jake, sizing Jordan up. The blond Swede was about six-ish feet, slim but lean.

Jordan sneered at Jake. "If I get to carve out your skull," he countered. Ashton looked aorund, alarmed.

"Jake!" Evelyn hissed in an aggravated undertone, grabbing his wrist that Nova's leash was tied to. She tugged at his arm. They were not going to have a stupid showdown on the damn quad, for Pete's sake! She looked around the Spaniard and realized James was already out of sight on the crowded quad.

Jake handed Nova's leash to Evelyn and snorted. "If I remember correctly some of your buddies skull is still carved out in Central Park. I mean really it took two of you to fight me, and I still won."

Seth laughing at this was not helping the situation any. Even Ashton looked a little amused but he didn't seem to be stopping Jake any time soon.

Evelyn stared at the leash, baffled. What the hell! She didn't want the leash! Nova was wandering off again.

Jordan looked about ready to carve Jake's face into the ground. He stepped forward until he was in Jake's personal space, almost nose to nose. "Oh, I don't remember you winning," he leered. "Running away more like."

"Oh no," Ashton and Seth muttered. Evelyn groaned, looking over at Lola and Carrie, who were watching in silent horror.

Jake furrowed his brows at the dumb ass. "Really, you wouldn't know you were too busy on the floor crying, again it took two of you and one of me. But hey you're alone now, where's your boyfriend in the hospital still?"

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn could tell, from the way Jake's friends were all standing back with expectant looks on their faces, that there was going to be a fight.

Just once, for once, she wanted a peaceful day. It was already stressful for everyone for having to move out and all of that. Why complicate things?

She looked down at the ground below her. It looked really hard.

"Macking on your girlfriend," Jordan shot back, eyes flicking ever so slightly to Evelyn.

Now Jake had lost it, he brought back his arm and punched that idiot square in the jaw.

[Tiger-Lily]

Carrie gave a yelp, clapping her hands over her mouth. "Oh, my God."

Evelyn, who had missed Jordan's glance and his comment, looked up, bewildered. Whatever he'd said got to Jake? But not the earlier comments? The hell! How did boys operate - ?

Seth was making encouraging cheers. Ashton was cringing and exchanging uncertain glances with his brother.

Jordan reeled back but hit out at Jake's chest with a left hook.

"Oooh," Seth commented. Evelyn glared at him.

"Stop them!" she exclaimed, forgetting her initial idea.

Seth snorted. "Fuck no."

Jake grunted, grabbing Jordan's arm and twisting it to the side, Jake yanked him down and rammed his knee into the blond boy's chest.

Jordan toppled forward but then rolled and came up, fist swinging at Jake's shoulder.

Evelyn looked around at everyone. Was no one going to do anything?~ Really?!

Jordan was howling cuss words. Thank God they were away from the dorm building else they'd be escorted off campus already.

But people were already looking.

Evelyn sucked in her breath, looked down at Nova, and then rubbed his head. "Here goes, boy."

She took a sudden step backwards, toppled over Nova and sprawled sideways with a soft moan. Thanks to Nova, her head did not hit hte pavement and she was able to sprawl there as if she'd fainted. Which, given the sudden rush to her head, she kind of felt like she had.

"Evelyn?!" Carrie yelped overhead. "Oh my God! Did she faint?!"

"No," Ashton said, he'd abandoned the fight to kneel by her. "I think she's having a seizure! OH shit!"

Evelyn had taken the cue to have her body jerk slightly in spasms. Nova barked anxiously.

"Call 911!" someone yelled.

Oh no, Evelyn thought. Don't you dare, or I will kick your ass from here to your ancestors' millennium.

Jake froze seeing Evelyn seize on the ground like that. "Evelyn?" Jake's eyes grew wide, he went to go to her side but before he did.

He punched Jordan really hard in the nose, he dropped down by her side. "Evelyn! Are you okay!"

Antonio and Lola both stood there panicking, as a few people gathered chattering, someone had pulled their phone out and was getting ready to dial 911.

Evelyn, hearing Jake's voice, took this as her cue to come back to life. Her eyelids fluttered open and her body stopped spasming.

"She's coming round!" Carrie exclaimed, looking like she was about to burst into tears - in Evelyn's half-shuttered vision anyway. Evelyn felt a pang of guilt and shook her head slowly.

"I'm fine," she mumbled, keeping her voice feeble. Carrie reached down and grabbed her arm.

"Can you stand?"

"Don't dial 911," Evelyn said, ignoring her. She blinked some more and looked up at Jake. "I'm all right...really."

Ashton tilted his head and stared down at her, standing behind Jake. Now that he thought about it, he hadn't had time to check her vitals or anything...

"You heard the lady, don't call 911," Seth announced to the crowd. "Now shoo!"

Jordan was seated on the ground, nursing a bleeding nose. He glared hatefully at Jake and Ashton cringed.

Carrie, too anxious about Evelyn to notice that she should be mad at Jake for beating up her fling, ignored this.

Jake grabbed Evelyn's hand giving it squeeze, he was so relieved to see her coming to. "Are you okay, did you get sick or not eat or something!" Jake asked worried.

All the time he spent with Evelyn and he had never seen her do this.

Ashton stepped back and over to Antonio, puzzled. "That was the weirdest spasm I've ever seen," he commented. "Usually, you know, the patient gets a pain somewhere first, I think..."

Evelyn looked up into Jake's worried face and beyond that, Carrie's, and cringed. Shit, she was glad she'd ended a fight before Jake got booted off campus, or jailed, or something, but she felt bad now.

She reached up and taking Carrie and Jake's hands, pulled herself to a siting position. "I-I'm fine, Jake," she said evenly, rubbing her forehead. She reached over to ruffle Nova's head. "Just, uh, guess I should be taking more vitamins." She gave a nervous smile. "C-can ou help me up?"

"Can you walk? Should she be walking?" Carrie asked Jake worriedly. She'd never seen anyone have a stroke or a spasm or whatever before!

"I-I can walk!" Evelyn said hastily.

Ashton passed Jordan a few tissues. Jordan got to his feet, cursing. Carrie momentarily shot him a worried glance. Then her attention returned to Evelyn and then back to Jordan uncertainly. His nose seemed more likely broken. He tipped his head back to stop the blood flow.
