[[from Luke and James' apartment]]
Luke found the store and wandered in, grabbing a grocery basket and quickly piling it with a tray of eggs, bread and some spreads. He grabbed a box of Frosted Flakes and some bags of Lays. A couple cans of Coke went in after that, along with a few bags of milk and then Luke entertained himself at the candy stand by the checkout counters, wondering what James would want. He settled on a few Kit-Kat bars and M'n'Ms.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola whistled as she filled her slurpee cup to the top with Coke icee, she took a sip of her cold beverage and turned and walked over to the candy aisle.
She wanted a Twix but there was tall blond boy in her way, "Excuse me. She said politely squeezing herself past him to reach for the Twix.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke glanced over and sidestepped, raising an eyebrow. She couldn't have waited three seconds? He shrugged it off and turned, making his way up to the checkout counter with his overstuffed basket.
Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola grabbed her candy and got behind the giant blond boy with the overflowing basket, "You feeding the city there?" She commented.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke frowned, bristling. He glanced over his shoulder as he placed his grocery on the conveyor belt. "Excuse me?" His tone was carefully neutral.
Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola pointed to his mountain of food and repeated herself somewhat, "I said you got a lot of food there, you feeding the troops there before you head off into battle?" She smiled.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke frowned and then remembered he was supposed to be a nice guy. But this girl was kind of annoying and loud as hell. Ashlee had been loud, but not quite as rude.
"I'm shopping for groceries for an empty house. Happy?" he added snidely, unable to resist. Two years of close proximity (AND a summer in Seattle) with Evelyn hadn't been a positive influence on him, he figured.
The teenage cashier smiled as she handed him a couple of bags. "Credit card?" she asked. Luke flashed her a dimpled smile and she colored slightly as he nodded and handed his Amex over.

"Hey it was a joke, no need to get snappy there Blondie." Lola retorted placing her candy bar on the counter and reaching into her purse for her wallet.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
"Do you randomly make rude observations at complete strangers often?" Luke asked her as he took his AmEx back and began bagging his groceries, taking it slower than he could have. This girl could wait in line for a little bit, he figured.
Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola rolled her eyes, "Are you serious? My tone was in no way rude, I was just making a joke, not my fault your crying over it." She said slamming her Twix on the counter probably breaking it.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke had a sudden urge to laugh. This girl's fuse was shorter than Evelyn's. "And yet you throw a fit. It's fine, really, I'll just walk out and we won't run into each other ever again." Thank God, he added in his head. He picked up the bags of groceries and made his way to the door.
Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola felt a bit bad, he was right that was a bad habit of her's commenting on stuff that wasn't her business. She bit her lip and paid for her stuff and followed the guy.
The least she could do was apologize, "Hey wait!"

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke sighed. Really? What now? But he only said a moderately polite "Can I help you?". He was unable to cut off the tint of sarcasm.
God, I need to never hang out with Evelyn.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Lola could hear his annoyance in his voice and she figured she deserved that, "Just wanted to say sorry for what happened. I didn't mean to offend you."

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke stared down at the girl and frowned unconsciously. She looked sincere enough and he really didn't feel like dragging it out any more. NY was a big city and it wasn't liek he was ever goign to see ehr again so why pick random fights? "Yeah okay," he said simply and then turned away, stepping through the store doors. He stepped to the side and held it open behind him. "You coming through?"
Re: 7-Eleven Store
"Yeah sure thanks." She said coming out the doors of. Lola looked up at they guy he didn't seem like he was that bad.
He was actually kinda cute, "So you from around here?" Lola asked.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke was almost walking away. He stopped and shook his head. "No, moved here for college." The grocery bags were getting heavy in his hands.
Re: 7-Eleven Store
"That's cool yeah I've lived here my whole life. Need help?" She asked motioning to his bags.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
"Oh, no, I'm good," he replied, flushing slightly that she had noticed. "I'm from Washington. But lived in a hick town my whole life so not much of a big city guy." He glanced up at hte towering buildings of Midtown. "Kind of intimidating. It's just me and my friend from home, so he isn't too savvy here either."
Re: 7-Eleven Store
"That's cool, you'll like it here, there's tons to do. So taking a guess are you gonna be at NYU this semster?"

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke nodded and a lock of his hair darted into his eyes. He blew hard to move it, to no effect. "Yeah. Studying music." He flashed a brief smile down at Lola. "And I am definitely starting to like it here."

Re: 7-Eleven Store
"Glad to know you like it, yeah I'm at NYU too, I'm gonna be a drama major, you'll see me on Broadway someday." Lola grinned, "As fun as this was I have to get going so maybe I'll see you around campus stranger, and if you do see me just know my name is Lola." She said walking past him.

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke nodded her way. The odds of meeting her were probably about 0.03% on a campus the size of NYU. He didn't bother with his name.
Turning, he made his way back to the apartment, pausing at the front door to pull out his cell phone and text James, asking where he was.

[[From Streets of Manhattan]]
James walked into 7/11 after leaving Tim Hortons, he went to the medicine aisle looking for stuff although he didn't know what to get, so he decided to let Luke take care of this, "Yeah dude pick out what you want, I don't know what you need."

Re: 7-Eleven Store
Luke swallowed some more of his Hot Smoothie, trying to push back a raging ache behind his eyes. "Ugh...Advil? I dunno, just need some NyQuil too."
He set his drink down on a glass counter and leaned against it, feeling sick to his stomach.
