James cringed, grabbing the medicine, "Here its on me." James offered handing the girl over the counter his credit card to pay for it.

Luke lifted his head and staggered over to a chair by the door. "Thanks," he mumbled. He felt a grin tug on his lips as the cashier smiled too widely at James.

"You guys go to NYU, don't ya?" she said, leaning her arms on the counter and staring intently up at the blue-eyed brunet. Luke thought she looked older, maybe an upperclassman or a grad student. He wondered if she'd still hit on James if she knew he was only eighteen.

Knowing James' luck, she probably would. Luke's amused grin widened as he waited to see how James would take her sudden, uncensored interest.

James looked up at the girl, she was clearly older than Luke and himself and he just smiled, "Yeah we both go there, do you?" He asked.

She nodded and Luke wondered if that was a good or bad thing. He knew forty year olds who went to university after all.

Still, she looked younger than thirty.

Luke stood and grabbed a bottle of water by the fridge near the counter, placing it next to the register. She, not looking away, somehow managed to check it out for him and check out James at the same time.

"Why're you out in this shitty weather?" she asked James. Luke pulled off the cap of the bottle, took out an aspirin pill and popped it, and took a swig of water, sitting back down again.

"It wasn't raining earlier, my friend Luke and I were meeting up with one of our old friends and we went to some carnival on 43rd, and it wasn't until we were walking back to our place that it started to rain. Trust me, I'm sure if we knew the weather was gonna be crap we weren't gonna be out." James replied.

Luke watched the girl's face redden slightly.

But she still managed to bat her lashes and say in a sultry tone, "Aw, then I'd be spending my shift talking to a brick wall."

"Oh well good to know we came in when we did." James looked over to Luke, although he would have stayed and continued the conversation, he felt bad that Luke was about ready to drop dead.

"I'd love to stay and chat but my friend is very sick, and I need to get him home." James said walking to Luke sitting on the chair.

The girl's elated expxression dropped. "Aw, but it's raining. Wait out the rain or all those Advil pills won't do much."

"Yeah, James," Luke was unable to resist saying, "it's for her own good."

James did not really like the vibe he was getting from this girl at the moment, he thought maybe had to do with his extreme mood drops, and highs today but he wasn't going to question it, "Like I said, its fine. We'll go my friend is gonna vomit and I don't want such a pretty girl like yourself to have to clean up his vomit." James lied through his teeth heading to the door.

Luke glanced at the girl. She'd turned green when James said "vomit".

Luke tried not to laugh right there. He grabbed James' arm as the brunet passed him, and used it to pull himself to his feet, swaying slightly. "Shit, dude, where's the subway I think I have a fever."

James cringed hoping that Luke really wasn't going to vomit on him, "Um I think down the street or something like that, um..."James really didn't want to have to ask the girl and he figured they just go out there and wing it, or ask some creep on the street.

"Killer good looks, huh?" Luke muttered out of the corner of his mouth to James, a twinkle in his eyes as he gravitated to the door. "Well, thanks, we're just gonna head out. It's a while back," he said to James' fangirl. And then he nudged James, looking at him pointedly and tilting his head toward her.

The girl behind the counter pouted before James and Luke left, "Well at least give me your number handsome, god knows if I'll ever see you again, its a big city."

James cursed mentally, he did not want to give his number to her, "How about you give me yours instead?"

The girl lit up like a Christmas tree, behind the counter as she found a small notepad and scribbled her number across it handing it over to James, who glanced at the numbers quickly and pocketed it.

"I'll see you around then, hey I'll call you." James lied, plastering a fake smile on his face, pushing Luke to exit.

"I'm sure you will, James," Luke muttered. He bit his lip to stifle his laughter as James dragged him over to the door.

"I'm free on Saturday evenings," the girl added quickly.

Luke swallowed....his stomach lurched where James had hit him. He hadn't been feeling too good there already. He tried to swallow down the bitterness rising on his tongue and nearly gagged.

He inhaled.

And then he threw up all over the nearby candy bar stand.

James nearly threw up himself, when he saw Lucas throw up, but he figured that wouldn't help the situation. He looked at the girl behind the counter, her face was a mixture of emotions.

Mostly horrified, disgusted, and now she was pissed, "Ugh! Take your sick friend and get the hell out of here!" She yelled at them as she came around from behind the counter, going to grab the mop from the back of the store.

James grabbed on to Luke trying to keep him up and looked up at the girl, "So I take it you don't want me to call you then?" He joked.

She narrowed her eyes glaring at him, and James winced, "I'll take that as a no, come on Lucas, its obvious we're not wanted here." He sneered at the girl as they made their way out.

Luke paused and took a sip of his water bottle. "Okay," he said weakly. He felt somewhat better now he'd thrown up. He didn't dare meet the cashier's eyes as James pushed open the door to the store.

Connor was at the 7-Eleven, getting a cheap make-shift dinner for himself for the night. He grabbed some other needed things, humming quietly along with his iPod.

[[from Dors]]

Seth whistled slipknot under his breath as he ambled around the store, grabbing some junk food for himself and Jake and for the cat. He paused and added a bag of doggie treats and some dog supplies too. God knew how long that pup would stay with them.

He backed around the corner, seeing a crate of drinks - and slammed his elbow into some other guy. Seth jerked back, cursing, as he dropped the bags of kibble. He glanced over his shoulder at the guy, who had his headphones in. "Watch it, moron."

Seth rolled his eyes, straightened. "Since you clearly can't multitask, I suggest, as a Good Samaritan, you take the music out. It's for your own good because a lot of people take offense and might just kick your ass if you walk around with your eyes and ears closed."

Seth gave him his customary arrogant Upper-East-Side smirk. "I know I am. Clearly, it's detectable." He turned around and stepped back into the aisle he'd aimed at, grabbing a six pack of Coke.
