Luke nudged James as Ashlee walked away. "Well? Are you just gonna stand here?" He walked intot he crowd and figured he'd see if he could find anyone he knew.

Evelyn stared after Antonio, stunned for a moment. That was so not like Antonio at all. But he'd looked so pissed already....

Wait. Why had he looked so upset? He wanted her to stay away form him....he was sorry he'd talked to her. Why exactly was he sorry?

The better question, Evelyn thought ruefully, was who had made him sorry he'd talked to her?

Anger suddenly rose in her. Of course. That asshole who was hell bent on ruining her life. What had he said to Antonio? Or done, rather?

Evelyn's fist tightened on the neck of the bottle she held and she took a deep breath, trying to calm her fury. So what, he was now scaring off anyone else she might possibly be interested in?

She had to remind herself she wasn't holding an ordinary bottle of liquor, and so she couldn't go find Jake and smash it over his stupid head. And concuss him. And possibly kill him in the process.

Calm thoughts, Evelyn! Caaaalm thoughts.

Seth's obnoxiously loud voice broke through her thoughts. "Heyyyy, you're all we needed," he slurred to her, suddenly standing by her seat with a cup of beer in his hand and a slightly glazed look in his eye. "I MEAN, JAKE'S LIFE CLEARLY DOESN'T SUCK ENOUGH!" he went on loudly, causing a few heads to turn. Evelyn closed her eyes, praying Jake wasn't in earshot, and hastily stood up, stepping around the drunk Greek and making her way to the far side of the fire.

James nodded, "Sure." He went off in the crowd scanning them to see if he could spot anyone he knew besides Luke and Ashlee.

Jacob really couldn't be around Rachel much longer, and he figured that Seth was having his own fun harassing her so he slipped away since his head was just bugging him and as he snaked his way through the crowd he bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry, didn't see you the-- oh come on!" Jake whined when he looked down and realized it was Evelyn.

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth had wandered over to the keg again and was now in a race to see who could drink faster against a guy from his class. He figured he'd done all the daredevil tricks for tonight os it was safe to drink.

Unless he drunkenly decided to jump off the roof. Then, there would be a problem. He hoped he wouldn't.

Evelyn rubbed her aching nose and glanced up. Of course. Just her God damn luck. Just when she was ready to leave. Her stomach instantly began to churn with nerves.

"Aren't you a charming host?" she retorted irritably, stepping back hastily and clutching the bottle to her before it could slip. This stuff was precious.

[Guest]

"Oh right because I just wanted to bump into Rachel, followed by you in the same night? So yes I can be as charming as I please." Jake huffed. He had enough of obnoxious redheads to last him a lifetime.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn opened her mouth to reply angrily and then froze. "Rachel?!" She blinked a few times and then snorted. "Wow, how many ladders did you walk under? Or was it your clumsy left feet tripping and smashing mirrors left and right?"

Jacob narrowed his eyes at her, "I'm sure the only reason the mirrors broke were because your ugly mug appeared in them."

[Tiger-Lily]

"No, that was your nasally bitching twenty-four/seven!" Evelyn snapped, getting irritated. "They couldn't take the decibel level of your PMS."

[Guest]

"Your decibel level of PMS breaks the sound barriers Red! Its why Nova cowers whenever he hears your voice!" Jake yelled.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn simply raised her voice angrily in return. "Yeah? YOUR voice makes LUCIFER crap himself It's THAT shrill!!"

[Guest]

"Your voice is so SHRILL that it makes whales beach themselves!" Jacob snapped back at her.

More people turning to gaze at their ridiculous argument.

Luke had been sitting with a bunch of people from his music class when he heard voices raised so loud, they were audible over the music. He blinked and got up, followed by the people around him, and craned his neck over the shorter crowd.

His eyes landed on a bronze head and he groaned. Who was her unlucky victim now?

"I'll be right back," he aid, and started to push through the crowd.

Nearby, Ashton was making his way to the source of the commotion. He swished the beer in his cup around halfheartedly as he wondered what had Jake so infuriated - this time. Seth again? Jake never yelled at Seth. Not like this!

Ashton spotted Ashlee's familiar mane of dark hair even though in the lighting, all brown hair looked black, but as he neared the bonfire, he could tell by her voice it was her.

He could also now distinguish the other female voice hollering at Jake. He leaned over and tapped Ashlee on the shoulder, bending down so she could hear him over the music (and Jake and Evelyn). "Please tell me that," he nodded his head at where the voices came from. Jake's tall frame was visible, "isn't your best friend and my roommate."

"At least they get to land!" Evelyn was yelling, hands curled into fists over her bag and the bottle she clutched. She took a step closer to Jake, eyes narrowing. "Your brain is so thick, it'd drag you to the bottom of the damn ocean before you could "beach yourself"!"

[Guest]

"I'd rather drown! It would save me the misery of listening to that banshee voice of yours you elf!" Jake shouted.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oh, is my voice bothering poor wittle Jake?" Evelyn cooed, changing tracks. She was now about five inches away from him and she turned, snagging a handful of crisps from a passer-by, divided it between her hands and pivoting to face Jake, said sweetly, "Let me block your ears for you!"

She reached up and smushed the chips in her hands into both his ears.

"Agh!" Jake groaned, shaking his head flinging chips everywhere.

He glared at her grabbing a cupcake from a girl, "Oh thanks Red you're so damn SWEET!" Jake smushed the cupcake in her face.

"Oooh." Ashlee went and turned to llok up at Ashton.

"Things are gonna go real bad from here." She informed him shaking her head.

Then she opened her napkin up and smiled, "Popcorn?"

Evelyn squeaked as her senses were attacked by sickly sweet vanilla overhaul. Asshole! She wiped the frosting off her face, eyes darkening. "Any time! Here, have some frosting to go with that!" She wiped her frosting-coated hand over Jake's face.

"Oooh!" some guys in the crowd hissed.

Ashton quirked an eyebrow and grabbed a handful of popcorn, tilting his head a bit to see past the people in front of them. "Shouldn't we maybe stop them? Jake can get pretty pissed real quick."

Luke had made his way through the crowd and found James. He tapped him on the shoulder. "I think you should see this." He grabbed James' shoulder and tugged him over to the bickering going on by the fireside.

Jacob wiped his mouth of the sugary frosting and grabbed a water bottle someone had left, "Thank you!" He said sickengly sweet, "But you're right I've been such a terrible host! You must be PARCHED!" Jake hollered obnoxiously spilling water over her head.

There was a collective gasp from the crowd.

As James had arrived to see a cupcake covered Evelyn and Jake he just watched in awe.

Ashlee's eyes widened and she nudged Ashton, "Oh boy...its gonna get ugly." She popped a piece of popcorn in her mouth.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn spluttered, shivering and glad she was near the fire otherwise she'd have frozen.

She reached over and grabbed the cup of beer someone had left on a seat. "Let me return the FAVOR!" She splashed it in Jake's face, wiping water out of her eyes.

Ashton cringed. "We should really stop this," he said, but made no move.

Seth suddenly appeared on his other side. "Wuzzgoinon?" he slurred and then blinked as he saw the scene. "Never mind."

Luke shot James a stunned glance. "Should we stop them? Before Jake gets too pissed?"

Jake coughed shaking his head so beer splattered everywhere, he felt himself start to freeze but he grit his teeth and grabbed more chips and crumpled them in his hands.

"Gosh you sure are hungry tonight! Here have some chips!" Jake sprinkled the crumbs all over her hair.

"Oh. Silly me. You can't eat those chips dry, here have some dip!" Jake found the dip and flung some on her nose.

James' mouth fell open and he said, "Just wait a second..."

Ashlee nodded slowly, "Uh huh." Not paying attention to Ashton but watching the food fight esclate.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn spit out the stupid dip, choking and shaking her hair so chips battered the audience. Some of them squealed and backed away as she swiped her hair out of her face, tossed it over her shoulder, and glared at Jake head-on. "So how much is the Dumbshit Squad getting from you to keep them in business, Jake?"

Luke was cringing. And here he'd thought Evelyn was going to leave inconspicuously. That would never happen.

Jake just looked down at Evelyn, trying to think of a comeback but losing it whenever he caught her green eyed gaze for longer than a second.

He averted his eyes from her. Jake wasn't gonna let her do that to him again. He suddenly remembered he was cold since she had spilled beer on him.

James watched in amusement and wondered why it was so quiet so he decided to egg them on , "Are you gonna let her talk to you like that!" James yelled, disgusing his voice.

The crowd muttering amongst each other at James' announcement.

Jake's jaw clenched at that comment, whoever that was he wanted to kill them.

"As much as it takes to get rid of the little trolls." Jake retorted.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn, who had been thrown off by Jake's long pause, now gritted her teeth. She wiped dip off her nose again and then stepped forwards, closing the distance between her and Jake - and smeared her chip-and-dip-coated hands all down the front of Jake's hoodie as she sneered up at him. "Yeah, I'm as messy as they come!"

Ashton was peering over the heads of the crowd and spotted James, cracking a grin. "Is he insane? This might look funny but it could get ugly really quickly."

Seth drunkenly walked up to Jake out of nowhere in the crowd, just as Evelyn smeared Jake's hoodie, and Seth held out a napkin to him, blinking dazedly before turning and ambling off into the crowd again.

"James has his own set of issues, and you're right this could get ugly real quick." Ashlee said glaring at James from the crowds. Stupid boy always managed to open his mouth at the wrong time.

At that moment Jacob had wished Evelyn was a guy so he could punch her in the face, but once again his luck sucked. So he looked around to find something and he didn't know why someone had a cheese whiz bottle there but he just reached down and grabbed it, "Yeah you're a real slob but hey don't worry, " Jake shook the cheese whiz bottle and pressing down on the nozzle he drew a sloppy grin from cheek to cheek on Evelyn's face. "Be happy, that I can look past those messy habits of yours and see that little smile on your face." He smirked cheekily.

It only occurred to Evelyn now that she had a face full of cheese (among other things) that she was supposed to slip out unnoticed. Not only had she gotten Jake's - the last person she wanted seeing her - attention, but about two-thirds of the bonfire crowd's attention too.

She reached up and wiped cheese off her mouth, hearing gasps and laughter in the amused audience. Right now, she was so pissed she couldn't even feel humiliated. She was cold, covered in cheese, crisps, dip and god knew what else, and the part of her hair outside the beanie was drenched!

"You - " She paused and inhaled angrily, unable to come up with an insult good enough for this asshole in front of her. So she simply raised her cheese covered hand and rubbed it in Jake's face.

"- foot-faced totem pole!" she finished irritably.

And then Evelyn turned tail and leaping over a chair, darted into the crowd, pushing for the exit so she could get the hell away from him. She elbowed her way past Ashlee and Ashton, not seeing them, and not realizing she had dropped the bottle of liquor somewhere during her fight with Jake, simply eager to get out and home.

Ashton reached over and grabbed the last bit of popcorn from Ashlee. "Shame. It was getting good." His eyes tracked Evelyn's progress through the crowd.

Ashlee squeaked, "Ow! That kind of hurt." She frowned rubbing her stomach from where Evelyn had shoved by to escape. That girl didn't even want attention and she went after the one person who was gonna give it to her.

Jacob coughed and then turned and took off behind Evelyn hopping over the same chair and catching up with her near the exit, his eyes narrowed into brown slits as he arrived to her hopping in front of her, "What happened to "reinforced steel, fingerprint bullshit?" Huh?" Jacob mocked her.

"Uh oh." Ashlee said hearing Jake's shouts and yanked Ashton's arm, "Come on if it was ugly before, now its just gonna turn to straight murder."

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton tagged along behind her, although he was really more amused than worried.

Luke was watching Evelyn's progress through the crowd like half the people in the room, and his eyes narrowed when he spotted Jake cutting her off.

"James? You're an idiot," he said to the brunet. "He could really hurt her, remember?!" He began pushing his way through to them.

Evelyn spotted Jake wen she was less than five meters away from him adn the exit. She faltered in her run, but then couldn't think of a good reply so she went with her only other option.

She lifted her arm and sped up, colliding into Jake's chest shoulder-first.
