Rose's & Creepy Roomie's Apartment

Seth was cold. He couldn't feel his hands or his feet because in his hurry to leave he'd forgotten his gloves and was just in sneakers so his toes were probably blue.

He trekked the familiar path to Rose's apartment and tried not to drop the vanilla Latte he carried on some old lady walking down the hall ahead of him as he tried to get around her.

Why can't they divide hallways into highway lanes? Fastest on the left, Dame Wrinkled!

After accidentally colliding with the old lady (and getting cobbled) Seth made it to Rose's apartment and rang the doorbell, standing there blowing on his bluing fingers. He stamped his feet.

"Shut yer noise!" the old woman snapped as she shuffled past. Seth gaped at her, affronted.

"I'm not saying anything so I can't shut it!" he argued reasonably.

The old woman whacked him in the shins with her cane.

Seth cursed and wobbled on one leg, grimacing in pain. "Frigid hag!"

"Wha' wuzzat?" she asked sternly, pausing.

He held up his free hand, eyes screwed up against the pain in his ankles. "White flag! Peace!" He made the peace sign and the woman looked like he'd told her he was Stalin's great-grandson.

God damn it, please let me in before she kills me. Seth thought desperately.

Georgina, Rosemary's "creepy roommate", unfortunately answered the door. "She" was in the living room and Rosemary was too busy trying to calm down, and not feel so guilt ridden thanks to Jake, and hadn't heard the knocks from her bedroom.

Georgina grinned widely at Seth. "Hi there, Sugar." She purred and reached out, running a finger over his jaw. "What are you doin' here?"

Georgina was in fact, a tranny.

Seth stared, confused, at the oddlooking girl. Wait, was it a girl? She looked feminine and had a big rack.

Seth tilted his head just slightly so her fingers fell off his face. "Looking for Rose?" he asked, wondering if he had the wrong house. But no, he'd been here before....

The old lady suddenly screamed like she was dying behind him. "HEATHEN!!!" She was gaping at the girl who had answered the door. Seth rubbed his aching ear, praying his eardrums hadn't burst. The hell?!

The old grandma smacked him with her cane...on the butt. "Heathen! Stay away from her!"

Seth groaned. Why was he here again?!

Georgina glared at the old lady and flipped her off. "Screw off, wrinkled hag!" She shouted, her voice sounding a bit rougher at that and she pulled in Seth. "She's in the room on the right, third door." She sighed and put a hand on her hip, slamming the door on the old lady.

Seth caught a glimpse of the old lady crossing herself right before the door closed her from view.

He shot the unknown girl a wary look. What was with her voice? It sure was....kind of butch.

He shrugged and then turned and headed down the hall. Whatever. Rose's coffee was getting cold!

He reached the third-right door and cleared his throat dramatically, pulling from his pocket a tiny whistle.

He gave three short blows on it. Short sharp notes, and then announced, "STARBUCKS DELIVERY!"

Rosemary cringed and rubbed at her ears, standing up from her desk chair and went over to the door, taking a deep breath. She had guilt boiling in the pit of her stomach, and with what Jake had said, it made her feel really.. REALLY bad. Like an actual gold digger and Seth was a nice gu-..no. He was the douchebag leader of the alpha douchery house.

She frowned and furrowed her brows. What was WRONG with her? She was feeling GUILT? Pure unforgiving guilt over ANDREASIS? She flinched and bit at her bottom lip before composing herself again and opened her bedroom door with a smile. "Hiya."

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth stopped shooting Rose's roommate studying looks and turned his attention to the redhead, feeling an automatic smile on his face. He tried to speak around his chattering teeth. "Morning!" He leaned over to kiss her cheek but then froze and drew away, muttering, "My face is cold. I'd probably ice you on the spot."

He handed her her latte and said, "And your old neighbor attacked me. It's like some Gothic version of Red Riding Hood. Evil Grandma attacks the incredibly good-looking hero as he travels to see the beautiful princess with his metaphorical basket of food. In this case, a Starbucks latte."

Rosemary, sorta had to laugh at that image in her head and opened the door more for him, taking a sip of her Latte as he grabbed his hand with her free one and pulled him. "Sit down, mister incredibly good-looking hero." She said after swallowing and grabbed the blanket slung over her computer chair. Her insides wanted to roll their nonexistent eyes.

"Th-thanks," Seth said, feeling goosebumps both from her hand and the damn cold erupt all over his skin. He shivered and exhaled as he took a seat on her desk chair. He cocked his head at her, eyes clouding. "You all right?"

Rosemary slightly ignored the question and set her coffee down, throwing the blanket around Seth's shoulders and wrapped it around him, biting at her bottom lip. "Um. Yeah, I'm fine. How's that?" She asked, tucking the blanket around him more.

[Tiger-Lily]

He looked up at her and gave his usual happy grin. And in a moment of Seth-narcissism, said jokingly, "I'm hot enough already." He tilted his head to the door. "Also, your roommate's really, uh.....masculine, ain't she?"

Rosemary grabbed her coffee cup again and sat down on her bed. "Um... she.. isn't.. exactly a she, Seth." She said, starting to crack up as she watched him, waiting for his reaction.

[Tiger-Lily]

There was a long pause.

"Oh," Seth murmured, eyes on the floor. He tilted his chin up after a moment, blue eyes slowly widening in silent horror.

"I CHECKED OUT A GUY?!" he howled, forgetting "he" could hear them out the door.

Rosemary quickly put her hand over her mouth to not spray out her coffee in sudden laughter and she closed her eyes tightly, managing to swallow and busted out laughing. "Y-yes!" She squeaked, laughing.

"Thank ya, sweetheart! Like what you see?~" Georgina called.

Seth turned green and then felt his cheeks flush bright red at Georgiana's comment. He closed his eyes, swallowing. "Ah hell, this is karma," he muttered. He scratched his ear. "Uh...." Topic change! "You look beautiful!" he blurted out hastily to Rose. Not that it wasn't true. She didn't even look like she needed to try.

Rosemary opened mouth and then shut it, giving a wary smile as guilt hit her like a stab to the stomach. "Thanks Seth. You look as handsome as ever." She said smoothly. Not that Seth WASN'T good looking, but she should not have been complimenting him.

"Let's not talk about me," Seth said firmly. He sat up in the chair. "You know what, I still haven't worked out your present..."

He paused, voice trailing off as something nagged at him. He wanted to say something here but something told him it would be inappropriate. She wouldn't like it. Seth blew out his breath uncomfortably, confused at himself.

"..What's wrong?" Rosemary raised her eyebrow, staring at Seth, noting the frustration.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Nothing," he said quickly, not liking to worry her. His phone was vibrating in his pocket. Seth stood up hastily, not liking the weird cloud his mind felt caught in. He glanced at Rose and for a second simply stared. The words tumbled out automatically. "D'you wanna get dinner tomorrow night?"

He idly wondered where that came from. He hadn't been thinking it at all. Admittedly, he'd just been admiring from afar.

Rosemary blinked. Was that an actual date invitation? She stared up at Seth, blinking rapidly and felt her stomach do a little churn and flip as her thoughts raced. "..Yeah, sure, sounds fun!" She blurted out, before cursing herself to high heaven in her head, wondering what the hell was wrong with her.

"Awesome@" Seth exlaimed, in the excited tone he reserved when streetracing a cop (unintentionally on said cop's part). Seth stretched out his arms like a conductor. "The beautiful city awaits its beautiful patrons!"

He paused and then proclaimed grandly, "And on that note, I leave you, fair Persephone! Dangerous quests await this hero - " he stopped using the grandiose voice and added normally, "And I accidentally drove my car right onto the curb. Don't wanna get towed." He dropped his arms, delfating visibly.

Rosemary grinned slowly and lowered her cup from taking another sip. "Just don't run over any poor baby's in pram's." She chuckled, and sat up straighter. "What time tomorrow?"

[Tiger-Lily]

"Seven?" he asked, zipping up his jacket for the run to hsi car. Hopefully it was still there. Helingered uncertainly near the door. "If that works for you."

"Yeah, that's fine. Go go, go check your car. I'll talk to you later on the phone or something." Rosemary shrugged and gave a smile. "Later Seth."

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth turned and headed for the door and then doubled back with a cheeky grin, leaning over and planting a kiss on Rose's cheek before stepping out into the hallway.

And remembering her roommate.

Oh shit. Cue embarassment. @$!#

He bit his lip and cautiously looked both ways in the hall before darting to the front door. He slid it open and hurried out, relieved. No Grandma Hood. Another plus.

Homestretch! He dashed down the hallway like a desperate batter running for home base, to the elevator and toward home.

Right after Seth left, Evelyn finished her discussion with Ashlee and texted Rose. So what do u plan to do now? About loverboy. ;D
