The both of them talked for a little bit longer before Ashlee decided to leave, since they figured they'd both need their rest for Seth's birthday tomorrow night!!

"So yeah, I figure it'd be easiest if everyone I personally know enough ot stand in a car just went together. That's you guys, Lola, James, Luke, Evelyn, who's bringing Ashlee and some blond friend of hers...that's about it, I think," Seth said to Ashton, checking himself in the mirror one last time. He stepped out of the bathroom, dressed in a light blue silk button-down, a dark blue vest and dark jeans over high-tops.

"Is this dressy?" Ashton asked him doubtfully, as Seth adjusted the pendant strung on a silver chain around his neck.

"Damn straight. Oy, JACOB!" Seth whistled down the hallway to Jake's room. "YOU CAN COME OUT NOW, DON'T WORRY, SHE STILL LIKED YOU WHEN YOU LOOKED LIKE LAST YEAR'S HOBO COUTOUR!"

Ashton began laughing and had to clamp a hand over his mouth and exit the suite. "I'll go get," he lowered his voice, "Lola. James and Luke and the rest are meeting us downstairs!"

He headed upstairs to Lola's suite. Luke met him in the hallway, pointing his thumb at the open door of their suite.

"Waiting on king James," he grunted irritably. Ashton cringed and continued on to Lola's suite, knocking.

"Ash, Carrie, are you good to go?" Evelyn asked, retouching her dark red lipstick one last time. She had debated between tormenting Jake (both his favorite color and the color most males responded to most) and being classy. She chose to do both.

She had changed her blouse at the last minute, to a red silky [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with a rather low dip at the heart-shaped neckline. Paired with a white, asymmetrical, layered (her favorite kind) miniskirt that flared the moment she moved an inch and red, black and gold ankle boots that worked at making her legs look longer than they were, it was classy and yet slightly funky at the same time.

For once, she had straightened her hair; it fell longer, down to past-midback, leaving the ends somewhat curled, and brushed her bangs in front of her face. Her hair, when straightened, was a feathery do, and it made her whole outfit look less party-ish, more classy. Red jewelry, a red clutch and lace gloves to add a slightly coquettish appeal (while looking classy, of course).

It was essential nobody think she was planning to torment Jake tonight. She was going to stay the hell away from him. For a while, at least.

She had done up her dark, smoky eyes, lots of mascara and dark gray kohl pencil to bring out her eyes. Rouge lipcolor, glittery red nails and a pinkish tint to her cheeks later, she was ready. She slid a vintage gold pendant around her neck, the chain cool to her skin. the pendant rested just below where the low v of the neckline stopped. She yanked on her black jacket and waited by the door for the other two.

She had her hair done up in a chignon, fancier than Evelyn's, and had on similar smokey-eyed make-up and light lipcolor. She rubbed Nova's head and looked up, grinning.

Jacob had dressed up in black pants, and had been going through his closet for something nice. Most of his nicer shirts and stuff he had kept at home since he really didn't dress up that much. Jacob had finally decided on a white button down dress shirt, he had combed his hair and neatly arranged his spikes as opposed to them being all over the place.

Ashlee had been finishing her make up in Evelyn's room. She had done her hair in waves as opposed to her usually pin needle straight hair.

Since her outfit was so bright, she had done a smoky eye on herself instead of something more lively to balance everything out sort of. Ashlee put on her shrug over her outfit and came out. "Ready to go when you guys are!"

James had checked himself out in the mirror one last time, he had dressed in black pants and a shirt. He had tousled his hair a bit with some gel. He figured he'd be simple and of course not out shine Seth on his night he came out into the hallway after a bit and grinned up at Luke. "Have no fear, your king is here!" He announced smugly.

Lola had heard knocking on her door, she was just finishing up putting on a nude shimmery eye shadow on her eyes, since her outfit was so dark. She didn't want to look like a raccoon. She had turned off the curling iron she was using, to enhance the natural waves in her hair. Lola threw on her cardigan, and threw her phone, camera, and some make up into her clutch. She opened the door and smiled up at Ashton. "Hey, looking good." She complimented him.

Ashlee giggled shaking her head at Evelyn. She figured whatever happens and happens tonight. Seth, Jake and Antonio reached the elevator. To their surprise, well, not exactly Seth's, Luke, james, Lola and Ashton were inside.

Evelyn exited her suite, locking it up after Ashlee and Lola exited. She had talked to Seth and he'd told her Nova would probably not appreciate being on a boat. So she'd had to leave him behind yet again.

Oh well, she didn't want to risk Jake stealing him. She had also ensured her window was tightly locked. She wasn't planning to do anything to Jake tonight, but who knew?

She, Ashlee and Carrie headed down to the elevator. Unfortunately, it took a long time to come.

Eventually, they were all in the lobby, and the limo was waiting. Evelyn, Carrie and Ashlee came down shortly while everyone else climbed into the SUV limo. All the girls had their coats on, shivering as they climbed in.

Evelyn zipped up her jacket as she climbed in and sat down on Antonio's other side, shivering slightly in her short skirt and wishing she'd worn leggings. Damn dress code. She flashed Antonio a smile in greeting and looked up, spotting Luke and James seated at the other end of the limo. She lifted a hand to wave her fingers at James, resisted an urge to throw her shoe at Luke, and hastily skipped over looking at Jake, returning her gaze to the window.

Carrie sighed and sat down across from Jake, sending him a slightly pitying smile. Seth climbed in after Ashlee had and plopped down next to her on the nearest seat. "Everyone in? Good, let's roil out!" he said into the intercom, and the limousine lurched forwards.

It was the week before Spring Break, everyone had been pretty occupied with studying or working. Since the party Evelyn and Jacob had yet again avoided each other, as well as Evelyn and James. Everyone was pretty annoyed to find out that Jake and Evelyn were ignoring each other yet again, and Ashlee herself was irritated and wanted to know what had happened at Seth's birthday that had caused all of this to happen and why Evelyn and James were now no longer on speaking terms, when it seemed like they had been friends.

After a few angry wall posts, and Facebook chats. Every few minutes wondering when Evelyn was gonna return.

Seth had returned from class just as Evelyn entered the lobby.

The elevator ride was tense. Seth, after fidgeting a good deal, muttered, "So...Ashlee says you're not going to your lil hick town?"

Evelyn blinked at him, tugging the lapels of her coat anxiously. She kind of wished she'd stalled some more. There had been a kid she'd wanted to punch after class. "No, I have stuff to do," she mumbled, shifting her feet.

Once they reached the fifth floor, she headed to her suite while Seth went to his.

"SALLY! I'm HOOOOME!" Seth chirped as he walked in and dodged Lucifer's loving claws.

Evelyn looked up and spotted Ashlee leaning by her door. Evelyn heaved a sigh and pulled out her keys, unlocking the suite and walking in silently.

Evelyn walked back to the living room and sat down on the single seater. She swung her legs a bit to stall and then finally said, "Um...as you might be aware of by now - I didn't sleep with Jake. I...I wouldn't. I couldn't - I mean, don't get me wrong, I'll admit, a part of me wanted to," she admitted, feeling her face flush. She took a swig of orange juice to avoid eye contact. "I mean, it's...I-I-I liked the guy, and all, it's normal, I guess, but you know, I'm not really into sleeping around, I don't wanna be one of those stupid girls lugging aorund a baby before I got my undergrad degree. A-a-and Jake said he didn't want me doing anything I would regret. And the next morning, I um, talked to James after he went upstairs.

"He told me I had to make a choice, between him and Jake, because, Ash," Evelyn swallowed uncomfortably and finally looked up, "James kissed me o-on his birthday. Then, then the night of Seth's party, we were both in the lounge and he told me that he...that he liked me. Still liked me," she corrected herself. "And that, that he'd flirted with me when we went to Abercrombie, in hopes it would get back to Jake and make him react like an over-possessive boyfriend. So while James pretended to be friends with me, Jake would look like...like an insecure jerk. And he did. That's half the reason I ended things with him," she said, her voice going lower and softer. "So then Jake, I guess, he was eavesdropping, he got all mad and yet somehow, we managed to get into a fight but um..." She figured Ashlee would know where this was headed. "Anyways, he kissed me, and then I kind of panicked, headed upstairs to hide but he followed me.

"We had a bit if a yelling argument, and...I said something, but anyways, we did not hook up all the way, and the next morning, when James told me to choose between him and Jake, I...I couldn't tell him it wasn't a choice at all. Because I... don't like James that way. Sure, I'm attracted to him. But I don't want anything more than friendship with him. So then, I...I left," She omitted he test, "And Jake found me in the hallway, and he....he said that right before I'd fallen asleep the previous night, I'd said that...that I might l..." She found her throat obstructed and swallowed hard. "That I might love him. And I told him I was just being drunk, you know?"

Ashlee's eyes widened, so they were all right? When Luke, and Seth, and even Ashlee herself had said that James still had feelings for Evelyn and he had sabotaged her relationship with Jacob? They had kissed on James' birthday!? James and Evelyn!? Ashlee had no idea of this whatsoever, and she wasn't even expecting it.

James had made it clear and said over and over again. That there were no feelings between Evelyn and him except that of being friends. And she had told Jake that she loved him??? Or she thought she might have loved him! That was a big deal drunk or not, because any person knew when they were drunk, their filter for things usually went away.

"Ev, did you mean it? When you said that to him? That you might... love Jake?" Ashlee asked carefully, she knew that Evelyn hated the word and was actually kind of scared of having those kinds of feelings. But Ashlee wanted to know.

Seth grinned. "Your ex-wifey!" he chirped, ignoring Jake's mood. "Apparently she's just as cheerful as you are. You two should seriously get together and start a Sunshine Organization."

"No!" Evelyn said defensively, drawing bakc into her seat. Her stomach gave an uncomfortable jolt and she felt her heartbeat pick up pace in nervousness. "I-I-I don-don't believe in love, Ashlee! So I told him that. Said that I was just drunkenly affectionate, you know? That's common. Jake does it himself, in fact, he's always all "Te amo!" or whatever whenever he's been drunk."

Jake's jolted a bit, when hearing Evelyn's name but he glanced at Seth. "So who cares?" He said annoyed, not really wanting to talk about her.

"Whoa Ev, no need to get defensive. Its just... you know when people are drunk. They tend to say the things they would want to say when sober. I know you don't believe in it but still. I was just wondering, if you still like him is all." Ashlee asked Evelyn, because obviously whatever Evelyn had intended to do didn't go through and she knew that Evelyn would never sleep with a guy she liked so she wasn't surprised when she found out from Jake that they hadn't slept together.

Evelyn stared at Ashlee for a moment and then glanced away, puling her feet up on the couch and hugging her knees. She expelled a slow breath and blurted out, "Yeah, I do." A weight on her chest suddenly seemed to grow lighter. She closed her eyes, an ache growing inside her chest. It had been festering for the past few weeks since Seth's birthday. Now, though, it was making her eyes sting at the mere mention of Jake. She blinked hard to hold off any stupid tears, though. She was done crying over him.

She looked back at Ashlee. "I don't...I just can't seem to come to terms with liking anyone. I don't know, maybe because I've never really liked a guy much before James, or because I never liked any guy as muhc as I do J-Jake. I just panic, is all. I...I-I freak out, start feeling suffocated even if he hasn't done anything suffocating. I mean, I know I was happy being with Jake, but it was too soon after Vegas. And then I started feeling oddly suffocated and there was this horrible fear. This fear that, you know, I don't want to be the type of girl that falls so head over heels for a guy that she grows reliant on him. I mean...as far as I can see, the whole concept of love is just a system of reliance. I don't want to rely on Jake. Or on anyone else.

"And so...I told him there was no way in hell I'd ever mean anything like what I'd said to him about loving him, and it was cruel and I still hate myself for saying that, and I told him that I wanted to sleep with him just to end this tension with us, made it seem to him like I thought everything between us was just tension, that it didn't mean anything to me, and that I just..." Tears began trekking down Evelyn's cheeks, "Just wanted to be alone."

Ashlee frowned and got up to give Evelyn a hug. "Aww Ev." Ashlee could see how Evelyn could fear being reliant on another person to make you happy, and even if you didn't want it to happen. When ever you liked someone or loved anyone that your feelings you shared them with that person, and sometimes they said one bad thing and it could ruin your whole day.

And for as long as she knew Evelyn, she knew that Evelyn liked being in control of her feelings. But if she liked Jake, and he liked her back then they shouldn't be doing this to each other. It was just so frustrating. At this point Ashlee was really agreeing with Seth in just handcuffing them together and letting them work their problems out.

Evelyn wiped her eyes and sat up, not really feeling like playing an angsty emo teenager. "You know what, forget this. You're right. I don't want to stay here and keep having to dodge him every time I see him. I'd rather have my March Break hiding out in yoru parents' basement," she said, wiht a feeble attempt at a smile.

"So, where's Tigger?" Seth asked the grouchy Jake, bouncing a little on the couch. He loved annoying Jake. "Should we ask him if he wants to come accompany you and me to Ash Whatever?"

"You're gonna come to Ash Creek then? That's good we need a get away! Besides, a lot of places to walk in Ash Creek good place to clear your head! I'm so happy you've changed your mind.
