"She hasn't been stalking your Facebook lately," Luke commented to James. "Did you insult her somehow?"

"Probably told her he was too pretty for it to work out between them," Evelyn said dryly, eyes on the window sill. She was looking at faint traces of scribbles under the sill. She hadn't done a good job wiping them off. Maybe because she didn't want to forget entirely.

She got to her feet slowly.

"I'm gonna hit the arts building," she said distractedly. "I found an empty dance studio there that we're allowed to book. I haven't done much practice in a while."

She didn't really have a reason to go right this instant, except that she suddenly didn't want to sit in the same room as the evidence of Jake's creepy demonizing.

Seth turned away from Jake and sat down by Antonio again, picking up his controller. He really couldn't think of anything to say to Jake. This was something he'd have to work out on his own.

"Take a walk, Jake," Ashton said quietly.

Jacob decided to get up and leave, he needed to just cool off. He went and grabbed a hoodie from his room, not really bothering to zip it up he walked out of their suites slamming the door behind him.

"Alright, well I should go too. I have some tests I need to study for anyway." Ashlee said getting up.

James nodded as they all got up to leave.

"Tonight's gonna be real fun," Seth muttered as Jake walked to his room. "Someone remind me to get him real drunk."

A short while later, the front door slammed and Ashton flinched.

Luke, Ashlee and James had walked out shortly before Jake had left. Evelyn couldn't take Nova with her so she passed him off to the boys to keep in thier suite while she went to her room to grab a hoodie for the walk over to the Fine Arts building. She shoved a black tank and white sweatpants into a duffel bag along iwht her dance gloves and a headband and water bottle. Then she headed out into the hallway.

Luke and James had taken the stairs, leaving Ashlee to ride the elevator down by herself. Right as Luke entered the stairwell, though, Nova barked excitedly and yanked on his leash, turning to run back into the hallway - toward a familiar figure in the boys' hall.

"Are you kidding me?" Luke muttered and Nova yipped loudly to grab Jake's attention (yet again).

Jacob heard Nova's barks, and he was going to pet him when he saw that Luke was attached to the other end of that leash, he had a quick flash of what had happened in the lounge a few weeks ago, and decided that this wouldn't be a smart idea.

James raised an eyebrow "What's up dude-" He stopped when he saw Nova yank Luke towards Jacob and he froze in his tracks, and just shot him a dirty look.

Jacob looked up and saw both James and Luke standing there, neither of them looked happy to see him. He didn't blame them, but its not like they knew what had been up with him. They just thought he was being a jerk. So it didn't matter how much he said sorry to either of them, it was just not gonna happen so he decided to just walk on by.

James however, had a score to settle. This bastard nearly broke his arm and could have possibly ended his career. "Hey!" James yelled, and Jake stopped turning in his tracks and he could say he hadn't expected James to punch him in the face, but he remembered almost breaking his arm so this was deserved.

Jake touched his nose and could feel the blood coming from it, and looked up at James. Sure he could have hit him, but for once he deserved it so he just decided whatever. He really didn't care. James and Luke were gonna hate him forever and it didn't matter, he wasn't gonna prove himself to them. So he just shrugged carelessly and went to walk down the stairs so he could find a bathroom and clean up his nose.

Evelyn had headed down the hallway when she heard familiar barking. She stopped short to see both James and Luke glaring at the door of the stairs. "What are you guys doing?" she asked, bemused, and Luke shook his head, entering the stairwell with a whining Nova who seemed to keep wanting to run down the stairs.

"Have fun, Ev," Luke said simply and headed upstairs. Evelyn opened her mouth, but then closed it.

James just shook out his fist, and looked at Evelyn and just nodded at her. "See ya later Ev." He said heading past her to go up the stairs.


Jake walked slowly down the stairs, head tipped upward so he could stop from bleeding all over his shirt. He was pinching the bridge of his nose, and could feel some of the blood running down his throat and coughed a little.

Evelyn hesitated. Was that blood on James' knuckles? She followed him slowly and walked down the stairs as he headed upstairs.

A couple flights down, though, she spotted a familiar head below her set of stairs adn nearly tripped facefirst the rest of the way.

Expletives erupting from her brain, she hesitated. Jake was walking kind of weird, like he was meditating. The hell?

She sped up just a little and then saw him tilt his head back again but couldn't really see what he was doing. And then she saw flashes of red.

James' knuckles made the connection to this scene in her mind. She cringed inside.

Well, whatever. I don't care, she reminded herself, and sped up, not wanting him to see her behind him. She reached him fairly quickly, gym bag bouncing against her shoulder, and climbed down past him without a word, heading on down the stairs.

Honestly, she didn't see why she had to say anything to him. If anything, he seemed to be acting like she didn't exist, and she was fine with that since she wanted nothing to do with his insensitive ass anyway.

Someone blew past Jake, and he sort of lost his balance and slipped down the stairs and fell to the landing. "Fuck!" He yelled out. As if the day couldn't get any worse. "Hey you know you could have been a little more careful!" Jake shouted after the person that ran past him, he didn't really get a good look at them since his head had been pointing up to the ceiling.

"Learn to walk without meditating, asshole," Evelyn snapped, slowing to a calmer walk without a look back.

Jacob clenched his jaw, seriously he had gotten pretty fucking annoyed of everyone today. "Seriously? Learn some damned manners, I'm sure wherever you're going you didn't need to plow through like a god damned bulldozer." Jacob said getting up and heading down the stairs to see who the punk was.

Although he could recognize the voice, and he didn't want it to be her. Anyone but her, but as he came around the corner. There was Evelyn's bronze hair gleaming under the lights, her gym bag slung over her shoulder as she walked down the stairs. So Jacob slowed, giving her, her space.

Evelyn gritted her teeth but resisted the urge to pick a fight. Anger festered in her thought.

She continued marching down the stairs. "Think of it as weeding. Gotta plow through them to get anywhere."

Jacob scowled at Evelyn, "If anything you look more like a weed, than I do." Jacob said sort of childishly, staying behind Evelyn so he wouldn't have to walk next to her.

[Tiger-Lily]

Evelyn, deciding she had no wish to talk to him further, fell silent, marching on down to the lobby. She pulled open the door to the lobby and breezed through, yanking it shut behind her in Jake's face. She strode across and out the doors of the building onto the quad.

Jacob jumped back just before the door could slam him in the face. "Bitch." He muttered. Okay he got it he wasn't exactly nice to her,and she was never gonna forgive him for what he did. But .... okay never mind. A door slammed in his face wasn't even enough.

Whatever! He didn't want to keep beating himself up about this, but what else could he do? So he waited a few minutes so that when he walked out they really wouldn't run into each other on the quad. After about five minutes or so he opened the door and walked out, heading out of the lobby and onto campus.

Evelyn had checked behind her and was relieved to see no Jake in sight. She turned and headed for the Arts building where many months ago, she'd walked to for Ashlee's photo shoot.

About two hours later, Evelyn returned, sweaty, disheveled and exhausted after her routine. She'd been surprised to know she hadn't forgotten all her ballet yet.

Upon entering the lobby with her bag, though, she spotted a familiar brunette sitting by the elevator.

"Lola, hey," Evelyn greeted her, taking a swig of her water bottle and pausing her iPhone's music player.

Ashton had been running late. He couldn't seem to find his damn shoe. So he was now crouched by his bed, yanking out random shit like crushed beer cans, discarded Snickers wrappers, a spare toothbrush, a comb, a thumb pin, a photo of Adrianna Lima (the hell?) and an old newspaper.

"Wear something else?" Seth suggested, when Ashton went back to the living room where Seth was, instead of studying the notes spread in front of him, browsing Youtube on his laptop.

"These are my best sneakers," Ashton informed him, irritated. "TONY! JAKE! HAVE YOU SEEN A BLUE SNEAKER?" he hollered down the hallway.

"Relax, I doubt Lassie will care if you turn up in neon-purple sneakers," Seth assured him, blue eyes fixed on his screen. "She's butch enough for both of you." Ashton gave him the finger and strode back down to his room.

Lola had been waiting for Ashton, in the lobby. She hummed a Rihanna song under her breath kind of frustrated with her hair she decided to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it. She smiled looking up at Evelyn. "Oh hey, you just get back from the gym or something?" She asked noting her gym bag.

"No dude its not in my room!" Antonio called out to his brother after looking through all of his shoes again he hadn't seen his brother's anywhere.

Jacob had gotten back from his walk awhile ago and was trying to study since he needed to pass his tests. He got up and saw Antonio walk past him opening the small hallway closet looking for something. "Uh what's going on?"

"Uh... Ash can't find his other shoe, blue sneaker or something. Did you see it?" Antonio asked him.

Jacob shrugged going to his room to look through his shoes real quick, he went through his shoes coming back out and shook his head. "Nope not here, check Luce's basket you know how he likes to chew on our shoes."

Antonio walked down the hall, Seth's door was open and he saw Lucifer all puffed up like a cotton ball, napping away in his basket. But underneath the silvery feline, Antonio spotted a blue sneaker. "Oh Ashton! Luce is using your shoe as a pillow!"

[Tiger-Lily]

"Can you get it out?" Ashton asked his twin, and ignored Seth's mocking laugh.

"You wanna hurry up, bro," Seth informed him, chatting away on Facebook. "Knowing Lola, she's probably sizin' up the next single male."

Evelyn stuffed her iPhone into her bag and reached up, retying her messy ponytail. "I was actually at a studio over in the Arts building - dancing." She smiled tiredly. "I haven't practiced ballet in years. I had Youtube to guide me, though." She grinned. "Unfortunately, non-majors aren't allowed to take dance classes at NYU so I have to find a trainer somehow, somewhere. Where you headed?"

"Ha yeah right!" Antonio snorted. "Luce hates me, besides its your shoe. Good luck bro!" Antonio grinned, thumping Ashton's shoulder going to join Seth in the living room.

"Oh I am waiting for Ashton, we're supposed to go out. He's running a little late though." Lola said taking out her phone to check the time.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Screw you," Ashton muttered, getting up from the floor where he'd been crouched checking under the couch. He walked slowly to Seth's room and examined the feline.

Lucifer's eyes shot open, twin balls of gold fury and Ashton lost his nerve.

He went next door to Jake's room. "Heyyyy...um...I need a favor...canyoupleasegetmyshoe'causeI'mgonnabereallylateandLolawillthinkI'madickbutt-Lucescarestheshitouttame," he said swiftly.

Evelyn blinked and then a wide grin spread over her face. "Ooh, you have a hot date with Ashton!" she exclaimed unnecessarily loudly in the lobby, eyes dancing. "That is so cute! Does Jake know about this development in your sordid affair?"

"Ash, whatever you just said I missed. Speak up." Jake said firmly. He needed to study. He turned in his seat and looked up a him.

Lola's cheek warmed up, and she smiled meekly. "No, no. Its not a date we're just hanging out...well I mean I don't wanna call it a date you know?" Lola stopped, realizing she was kind of rambling. Lola took a deep breath. "Uh no, I haven't really told Jake, and I doubt Ashton has. Jake's kind of protective and."

[Tiger-Lily]

"Jake's a douchebag," Evelyn said flatly before she could stop herself, anger lacing her voice as the previous incident with him rose to her mind. "You guys have been a sort-of-thing long enough. I don't see why you can't call it a date." She calmed her anger at the Spaniard and flashed Lola a teasing grin. "Hey, he's a catch, girl. And it kind of really sounds like a date anyways."

Ashton hesitated in the doorway and flushed. "Um...I need your help getting my shoe from Luce," he said slowly. "Because, um, Luce tends to not tolerate me and you've dealt with him often enough."

Lola was caught off guard by Evelyn's tone,but she sighed. "I guess, I also didn't want to you know push it? Cause I know Ashton is nice and all but I'm not sure if he sees us as something more you know? Like if he wants to be open and what not."

Jacob sighed, he did not like dealing with Lucifer but its not like Ashton was always asking him for favors. Jacob got up and went to go to Seth's room where he saw Lucifer snoozing on Ashton's shoe.

Jake picked up the cat from its belly, and grabbed Ashton's shoe.

[Tiger-Lily]

As expected, Lucifer began hissing and clawing cuts in Jake's exposed arms and face, puffing up madly and Ashton looked around for something, and grabbed Seth's pillow, yanking off the case. He dove forwards and wrapped it around Jake's Lucifer-holding hand.

This trapped the cat, but also trapped Jake's hand with it. Lucifer retaliated by carving his angry art into the Spaniard's flesh.

"Fuck," Ashton cursed.

Evelyn shrugged. "He does hang with Seth," she acknowledged. "Poor guy. Seth is a terrible influence. But hey, consider yourself lucky. I haven't been on a dat ein weeks. Might resolve that tonight, though." She winked at Lola, adjusting the strap of her bag over her shoulder.

"Owowowowowow!!!" Jake yelled trying to get his arm out of the Lucifer bag! "Ashton god damnit!" He cursed.

Lola raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Who do you have in mind?" She didn't want to bring anything up about Jake to Evelyn, after that whole thing maybe it was best for them to move on.

[Tiger-Lily]

"I'm sorry!" Ashton yelped, and yanked at the pillowcase, pulling Lucifer off Jake's hand (while the cat dug its claws in).

Ashton wrapped up the angry cat and tossed him onto Seth's bed, where Lucifer burst out of the pillowcase, spitting and hissing.

"RUN!" Ashton yelled, grabbing Jake's arm and bolting out Seth's dorm room door as Lucifer flew off the bed in rage.

"What the fuck are they doing?" Seth wondered, listening in on the chaos from his room.

Evelyn shrugged. "My friend Carrie mentioned she might be meeting a bunch of hot transfer students from Sweden tonight, so since it's a group thing, she invited me along. Ash doesn't seem interested unfortunately."
