Re: Freshmen Dorms
Evelyn quirked an eyebrow up at him. Let him out? He wasn't a dog, last she knew. "Uhh...you can take the door if you want..." she said uncertainly, scooting away from the end of her bed (near her door) in case Jake felt like he didn't want to pass her to get out of the room.
There was a long, low growl somewhere from the living room, unlike Nova's usual high-pitched growls. Then a few hollow thuds sounded, like the puppy was trying to drag the whole table with him to get to Evelyn's room. Evelyn bit her lip. For some reason, Nova being here felt reassuring. She didn't know what was wrong with Jake and it alarmed, hell even frightened, her.
It was odd. Jake was usually the one she'd have counted on as a safety point. Now he felt like a stranger.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Get out...now The voice warned him.
Jacob's hand fell down to his side. No you're not gonna hurt her I'm not letting you take over. Jake argued back with the voice, as he broke through the wall the demon was trying to shove him behind.
Jacob gasped like he had been shoved under water, panting and trying to get his breath back he focused frightened eyes on Evelyn.
He knew something was wrong, he could feel it. And whatever it was it wanted to hurt Evelyn. "Evelyn.." Jake managed to gasp out walking towards her.
"Ahh." Jake groaned as the demon fought back inside of him. I'll kill you, and take over your girlfriend, give up you're too weak to fight me.
Jacob clenched his jaw, and pushed on. "Evelyn...something is wrong." He choked out, feeling his throat close, he released sharp breaths, staggering for a bit.
Jacob broke through it again and grabbed Evelyn looking her in the eyes. "Evelyyn, whatever I say or do...promise me, you won't listen pleasee...ow." Jake turned his head away from her.
That's it you're dead. The demon fought against Jake and finally knocked him out of control. Of his body and his mind, he was shoved behind a wall while the demon took control. As Jacob was screaming and clawing on the inside to get control again.
Jake opened his eyes, two black eyes blazed into Evelyn's green ones momentarily and he smirked. "Its okay I'm fine now." He blinked and the black eyes disappeared to show Jake's brown ones, he turned and walked out of Evelyn's window.
Jake turned back blowing a kiss to Evelyn and jumped from the ledge.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Evelyn throat closed up as she blinked furiously, attempting to work out if she'd seen what she thought she had. Had his irises really gone...black? His whole eye?
No, she was seeing things, projecting random images onto real life.
The whole thing had happened so fast, she was still reeling from the flash of fear she'd felt when Jake had grabbed her.
Okay, either Jake was completely unhinged, or she was seeing weird shit. That had to be it.
Her head was still reeling as she looked up and saw him jump off the ledge.
"Ja - !" She cut herself off, got to her feet and hurried over to her window, hearing Nova whine again angrily. She looked down, squinting in the darkness. He'd done this before, but now she was starting to think he wasn't playing around.
"Jake?" she called, leaning out and bracing her hands firmly on the sill as her head spun dizzily.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Jacob fell through the cold air, grabbing and swinging from the ledges like some kind of animal. He had plummeted down through the dark and finally climbed down from the ledge of the first floor and landed down outside of the dorms.
Jacob dusted himself off and looked up when he heard his name being called. His senses heightened, detecting Evelyn's voice easily.
"Too bad your boyfriend isn't here sweetheart." Jake snorted. "Come on kid, you thought what I was doing was bad before, well you're in for a hell of a night." The demon taunted Jake.
As he disappeared into the night.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Evelyn couldn't see anything down below. She rubbed her face with her hands and figured she'd go calm Nova down a bit. She wasn't sure where Jake was off to, and she just hoped it wasn't as bad as she feared.
She headed out to the living room and then realized nova had stopped barking. Instead, he was sitting on his rump, pawing at a ball happily.
Was it just Jake's presence that set him so on edge? The hell?
Evelyn unleashed him, and walked to her room, picking up her phone. Jake was losing it, clearly. She didn't understand what was going on with him but...
She put down her phone and went to her laptop instead. What had he said, something was wrong inside of him? He couldn't control it then? And he wasn't acting like himself?
Bad teen fiction, Evelyn deduced, typing away.
Google suggested Jake had schizophrenia or...
What had Jake said to her? He'd been panicking, telling her not to believe anything he said...so did she not believe he was losing control over his own body? Or was that part of believing him when he told her not to believe in him?
Evelyn's head spun. She rubbed her eyes sleepily.
And then she landed on a Yahoo Answers page, where a girl was asking the same questions.
"Anxiety symptoms?" Evelyn read aloud, and then paused and thought about it. That made sense, because Jake had lately been under a lot of stress, what with his bipolarity, almost being fired, his constant fight with her (guilt clawed at that one) and his fallout with his parents since Vegas... except...this girl hadn't beaten up random people during her blackouts. She just walked to places and forgot how she got there. But Jake did a lot more...
Evelyn pursed her lips. Was Jake just really experiencing anxiety disorders?
Google suggested Alzheimer's Disease. Evelyn doubted this.
Google said that if Jake was lacking sleep, had emotional discord and memory loss along with aggression, he clearly had hypoglycemia, caused by too little blood sugar.
Evelyn declared Google an idiot and gave up on it. So clearly it wasn't going to be this easy. She had to talk to Jake. Maybe he did have an anxiety disorder?
No illness so far seemed to have "out of control body" as a symptom though. And that was Jake's biggest problem.
She erased the whole thing, hit by a bout of sleepiness. She'd try again tomorrow...
She got up and walked to her closet to change - and then she stopped.
No, this is crazy....I didn't see what I thought I saw.
She turned and walked back to her laptop and logged back in again. Going back to Google, she typed in "black eyes".
Google wanted to sell her tickets to Black Eyed Peas' next concert. As irresistible as this was, she ignored it and typed "fully" behind the two words.
Then she clicked, "I'm Feelin' Lucky".
Black Eyed Beings was the article it took her to. Evelyn almost flipped away from it but then went on to read it.
Far as she could tell, it was a load of crap about vampire-like beings. The hell? She scoffed and scrolled down quickly.
And then froze.
"...Apparently there are certain laws these beings must follow, such as being invited in. What's interesting is that this law requiring permission is known to apply to supernatural evil, such as
demons..."
Why had Jake asked for entry? Okay, he did when he didn't think he'd be invited in, but usually, he ignored her answer and barged in anyway. But there was nothing in this article about these "beings" taking over a body...
What was she doing? This was all a load of crap! Evelyn shook her head, flustered. She'd imagined those yes. There was no way in hell it was real...
Demons and shit did not exist!
She flipped down the lid of her laptop and grabbed her nightie, striding to the bathroom to change.

[[FF to Friday morning]]
Jacob unlocked the door to the suite, walking in. He closed the door behind him dragging himself along. He was so exhausted, he had no idea where he had been.
Jake was so exhausted, he had no idea how he was alive. He hadn't slept in almost five days, and hasn't remembered the last time he had eaten anything.
Images from last not seemed to blur, he saw someone falling onto the sidewalk, and a fire.
Jacob walked into the living room, and collapsed onto the ground, bringing himself into the fetal position. Jake wrapped his arm around his head and heaved a breath.
Closing his eyes tightly, he felt himself fade out.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
It was roughly noon by the time Seth woke. Antonio and Ashton had headed back home since they dind't have classes that day, so he was alone in the suite.
Wait, what? Where was Jake?
Seth knocked on Jake's door, wondering at the silence. No answer.
Frowning, he walked to the bathroom, freshening up, and then heard a knock on the door. He wiped hsi face with a towel and pulled on a shirt over hsi jeans before walking ot the front door, not noticing Jake sprawled in the living room.
He pulled open the door and started. "Uh...hey?"
"I need to talk to you," Evelyn said firmly. She was standing in the hallway with a large bag (too small to fit Nova, however), and a determined look on her face.
Seth stifled a sudden yawn. "About? Look, I haven't had breakfast yet..."
"Did Jake come back?" she interrupted rudely. Seth scowled.
"He's asleep, I guess, I'm not his mother -"
Evelyn barged past him (again, rudely, he noted) and spun to face him, ponytail flying. "I think he has an anxiety disorder. It's the best fit."
"Fit?" Seth asked confusedly. It was too early for thinking.
Evelyn opened her bag and pulled out a sheet of printed data. "Yes. Anxiety, or stress disorder. He has most of the symptoms and we know he's been really stressed - "
"No thanks to you, huh?" Seht muttered. Evelyn's blunt look momentarily wavered. Hurt flashed across her expression and she swallowed, turning away.
"But anyways, I needed some info from you," she went on in a clipped voice, kind of like one of those lawyers Seth had seen at a d8stance. "And um, anything you can tell me, anything odd Jake might have done - or even said. Like, did he tell you he wasn't in control of his thoughts, or something? That he had no idea why he kept saying shit?"
Seth tried to remember. "Not really...he just acted surprised when eh found himself somewhere and said he had no idea how he got there."
Seth closed the door and Evelyn sighed, knowing she'd need more than that to work on this. She had a few questions she could ask Seth. Or even the twins. "Where's Ashton? And Tony?"
"Went home," Seth said, following her as she trailed into the living room. He threw the kitchen a longing look as his stomach rumbled. Damn it, Jake!
"So did he pull any crazy stunts like, um, breaking someone's arm recently?" she asked uncertainly.
Seth blinked. "How do you know -?"
Evelyn turned, face impassive. "He bragged about it. I wasn't sure if he was lying."
Then she looked away - and went, "Oh my God!"
Seth followed her gaze and saw a sprawled form on the patch of carpet by the sofas. Evelyn had dropped her bag and was already darting over, kneeling beside Jake.
Jake had yet again KO'd outside his room, it seemed. Seth glanced at his shoes as Evelyn tried turning him over.
Jake wearing shoes indicated he'd definitely been out. Why? And where?
"Seth! Help me turn him over!" Evelyn snapped at him. Seth stuck his tongue out and obliged anyway.
Between them, they rolled the tall Spaniard over onto his back. Evelyn looekd up at Seth and then frowned, wondering why he looked so calm and resigned. "How is it you're not panicking?"
"He did this yesterday too," Seth replied with a sigh. "Don't know where he went, but Ash woke him up with a few slaps." Seth reached over and held his hand out but Evelyn grabbed his wrist.
"Water!" she said irritably, eyes flashing. She reached out and prodded Jake's cheek with gentle fingers, letting go of Seth's arm. "Jake? Jacob!"
"He's out," Seth assured her, kicking Jake's feet a little. Evelyn sat back on her heels and then grabbed Jake's wrist, checking his pulse. She placed a light hand on his forehead, feeling for any fever.
"So he...he's done this before and you're not alarmed?"
"He might've gotten drunk last night, who knows?" Seth muttered. "Memory loss occurs while drunk. He could be out terrorizing someone under the influence and not recall a thing!"
Evelyn rememebred the black eyes in her memory and swallowed. She got up and walked to the kitchen. Finding a wash cloth, she wet it with cold water walked back to Jake's side.
"You can slap him, since you enjoy injuring the kid," Seth offered. She ignored him and checked Jake's forehead before applying the rag to his face. "So he's just out cold for no reason at all? He doesn't have a fever. His body's still working..." she murmured, completely puzzled as she lightly ran the wet cloth over Jake's face. "I really don't get it. Passing out nightly is not normal!"

"I think he might be dying," Seth said, and wondered if they should be afraid. "He just gave his last breath."
Evelyn lifted her head and glanced at him, slight fear in her eyes. "He is not dying! Don't be stupid! He probably wants to see if he broke anything out last night!"
She looked down at Jake again, dabbing the wet cloth over his eyes to waken him. She put the cloth down and brushed his dampened hair off his forehead with two fingers. "Are you dying? We're not sure if we should call an ambulance." She forced a weak smile down at him.
Seth quirked an eyebrow. "Oh yeah, because he'd be able to tell you?"
Evelyn frowned, keeping her eyes on the Spaniard. "He'd feel it if he was dying, you idiot!"

"He has a hangover! I told you! He did get drunk last night!"
Evelyn cringed. "He also seemed to imply you should stop yelling," she said quietly and Seth waved a dismissive hand.
Evelyn looked down at Jake, fingers working through the knots in his hair. "Where'd you go last night? DO you remember?" she said lowly.

"Went to apologize?" Seth guessed and Evelyn nodded, slowing her hand before oulling it back onto her lap.
"You left," she said, with a frown. "Wait...how do you not remember? You were talking to me exactly like you normally do, no weird behaviour. We talked a bit, you said that...you told me something was wrong, you got a bit odd - oh." She bit her lip, looking down at him. "I'm guessing that's where your brain blanked out your memory..."
"Red thinks you have an anxiety disorder," Seth said, as Evelyn grabbed Jake's hand and tugged at it, ignoring the familiar twinge that shot through her fingers on contact.
"Can you sit up yet?" she asked.

Jake took Evelyn's hand and lifted himself up. And tried remembering speaking to Evelyn and then his eyes widened.
"Listen to me...something is wrong and, I'm not being me. Something is. " Jake paused shaking his head.
Really again? Do you remember what I can do to you. Can snap you like a twig.
Jake lowered his head onto his knees. "No, no. Please stop." He pleaded quietly.

"Does this anxiety disorder involve talking to oneself?" Seth wondered, as he watched Jake.
Evelyn reached out and touched Jake's shoulder, squeezing it. "Stop what?" she asked him. She was mentally recording everything Jake said.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Jacob wasn't talking to Evelyn anymore, he was talking to the demon. "Please just leave me alone...please." Jacob begged.
You're so weak, you're only good for being a damned vessel. Quit being pathetic, and crying like some stupid child. The demon replied coldly to Jake.
More pain shot through his head and Jake clenched his hands through his hair crying out in pain. "Please...please. Just stop."

Re: Freshmen Dorms
Evelyn instantly drew her hand back, wondering if she was hurting him somehow. Had he hurt his shoulder?
Seth's eyes widened. "Is he having a seizure?" he asked, watching Jake in some panic.
Evelyn really didn't know what to do. She hated just sitting there watching Jake go through this, so she leaned over and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him into her and burying her face in his hair. "Jake, stop, nothing's hurting you! It's only me and Seth here!" she said, a hint of fear in her voice.
She was debating maybe just taking him to the hospital. But they'd probably admit him into a mental ward! He was complaining about something invisible hurting him - or had he been hurt inside? Who was he even talking to anyway?!

"No..no..." Jake whispered into Evelyn's shoulder. "Its gonna hurt you stay away." Jacob warned her. So she could leave.
Oh no you don't! It retaliated by inflicting pain onto Jacob slowly, beating away at him in the inside trying to drag him down.
Jacob moaned digging his hands into his skull. He just wanted it all to stop.

"Evelyn!" Seth said in alarm, "I think you're hurting him!"
Evelyn let go instantly, jerking away. "Sorry! Are you - Jake?" she asked worriedly.

"N-n-n-n-o. Its not her." Jake's voice trembled flicking his dark eyes up at Evelyn, he stared at her and he twitched. "Its, its hi--"
Then suddenly his head lolled back, and he closed his eyes releasing a small breath.

Evelyn waited a moment, and then Seth reached over, flicking Jake's forehead hard. "Dude?"
"I don't get what he's saying," Evelyn said softly. "If it wasn't me then..."

Jacob's hand closed tight around Seth's wrist, his eyes blazing like two black coals. "Don't touch me." His said darkly, shoving Seth away.
Jacob closed his eyes tight realizing this had been the second time the demon had revealed itself. It kept Jacob quiet, making him unresponsive to either Evelyn or Seth.

"Whoa, down boy!" Seht exclaimed, backing off. And he missed it, because he was stumbling to his feet, but Evelyn scrambled up, blinking hard.
Was she seriously going nuts? Why did she keep seeing...She peered at Jake, but his eyes looked normal again. Seth didn't seem to have noticed anything...
Seth stared at Jake a little longer and then turned aorund and walked to the kitchen. Evelyn stayed on her feet, not liking Jake's tone. Had he blanked out and was in an episode again?
While Seht filled a glass with cold water, Evelyn cleared her throat nervously. "Jake?" she tried.

Re: Freshmen Dorms
The demon had taken over again and just looked up at Evelyn again giving her a slow smile, flicking its eyes back it decided to screw with her a bit. "Oh you want him? He's not here right now. But I'm happy to talk to you gorgeous."
Jacob managed to break through for only a moment though. "Evelyn please...help."
The demon pushed Jake back down, but then it sensed Seth returning so it allowed Jacob to return and he gasped.

Evelyn gasped and stepped back, wondering if this was supposed to happen in stress disorders. Because it was kind of majority creepy.
She looked up as Seth appeared with his icy glass of water.
"How's he?" he asked her. Evelyn bit her lip and shook her head, not sure what to say. Her hands felt damp and she wiped them on the thighs of her [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], swallowing hard.
Seth walked up to Jake and upturned his glass of icy water onto the Spaniard's head.
