Seth grunted and put his feet up on the seat next to his, which just happened to be James' lap. "Guy, you're in my space." He glanced at Jake and smirked. "I'mma access yoru FB by the way. As soon as my hands stop shaking like they're high off Red Bull. Wonder what your girlfriend will say when I spam her Wall."

Luke cringed inwardly, but it wasn't much of a cringe. He was kicked back on the seats opposite Seth and James, swaying with the motion of the train.

Jake reached over and kindly smacked Seth off the top of his head, "Dude get off my Facebook!"

James shoved Seth's legs off his lap, "Oy I'm not a foot rest!"

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth sniggered. "I'm not on it, yet. I can't see straight."

The train began to slow as they reached Midtown.

Seth snickered at Jake and added, "I bet she beats you up."

James threw Seth a glare, why did he feel the need to bring up Evelyn at every possible chance? He blew it off thinking this is what guys always do, they hassle each other about their friends girlfriends, so he forced a laugh.

"Yeah she wishes." Jake snorted as he felt the train stop, he walked to the exit and watched the doors open.

Seth didn't let go of this opportunity to rile his roommate. He followed after Jake, stumbling, and added, "Funny, that bruise disagrees with you."

Luke wandered off the train after them, trying to shake off the light buzz he felt. He stumbled and tripped into James, elbowing his nose. "Ah, crap. Sorry!"

"Lightweight," Seth muttered, grinning. This was the idiot Alexis was drooling over?

James felt a soreness in his nose, where Luke's elbow met it, he rubbed it looking up at Lucas, "Is fine, geez you're worse than me." James said staggering slightly getting off the subway.

Jake clenched his jaw looking back at Seth, why was he finding it extremely necessary to bring up Evelyn all of sudden, "Fuck you dude, seriously I thought this was guys night not talk-about-Red night."

Seth wondered why Jake was getting so antsy. The fact that James was walking behind them maybe?

Seth tried not to grin. That would totally give it away. "Relax, he isn't even listening. That blond almost broke his nose. Don't worry, I'm sure if he wanted, he'd have kicked your butt sooner. Even in the girl department. No wonder he didn't fake a relationship with her."

He paused and added, almost apologetically as they reached street level, "Telling it like it is, bro. He has more going on for him."

Luke overheard this last part. "Who has what?"

Seth glanced over his shoulder and said, without missing a beat, "I was just talking about traits, ya know, the kind that girls dig in a guy? I got a dimple, and I work it better than people with two of 'em."

Luke wondered if he'd just been insulted. "Right," he said.

James heard this perking his head up and shrugged, "Girls always say they dig my eyes, or my hair, so yeah I got that going for me I guess."

Jake scowled at Seth, and thought for a moment, "I just drop a few lines in Spanish, or smile, that usually has them for me."

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth caught onto this immediately. He was not losing a bet to Alexis. "Didn't Red call you a slimy creep when you tried to use that smile on her?"

Luke choked on his laughter.

James laughed as well, he was starting to like this Seth kid a little more.

Jake narrowed his eyes at him and ignored him, he honestly didn't even want to talk about this and Seth was being a dick, he changed the subject, "Seth are you taking us to Oz first before we get to the zoo? "

Seth snickered. "We still have some walk left." He dodged a pedestrian with a pram, and reached down, snagging a Hersey Bar from the pram's outer pockets. He lifted it too Jake. "Want? I hear chocolate helps get over PMS or some shit. Which clearly, you need, Sally."

Luke glanced behind him. The woman with the pram had stopped and was now looking puzzled. He realized there was a big, broad-shouldered guy next to her, and she was talking to him with a frown.

This wasn't going to end well. Luke nudged James and nodded his head in their direction.

Jacob looked at the chocolate bar, and to the clearly disgruntled couple behind them with the line-backer sized boyfriend and back to his idiot friend, "Did you take their chocolate?" He asked rather loudly, Jake being a bit buzzed never really was good at controlling the volume of his voice when he started drinking.

James looked at them cringing slightly and back to them, "Guys what did you do?"

[Tiger-Lily]

"Took the kid's candy. Like they say...it's easy," Seth exclaimed, starting to unwrap the bar.

"Hey, punk!" a masculine voice yelled from behind them.

Luke glanced over his shoulder. "He's headed this way."

Seth bit off a chunk of chocolate and attempted to chew. "Damn, this shit's good."

Jacob watched as the guy approached the four of them he didn't tower over them, but he looked like he could bulldoze the four of them into the ground with his fist.

"Hey dude listen, it was just a joke. My friend he's a bit slow, so listen candy bars are like what? Fifty cents? Just go get another one." Jake said up at the giant guy.

"You don't steal from other people."He retorted.

James rolled his eyes, "Hey guy its just a candy bar, its not like he stole your wallet. Just chill out."

"Was it even necessary for your idiot friend to do that?" The guy asked glaring at Seth.

Jacob grit his teeth, "Listen Hulk, its a stupid freaking candy bar, honestly I don't see your girlfriend over there making a big deal out of this, so how about you just turn your large ass around, and get lost. Here, you want your candy bar." He took the Hershey's from Seth's hand and shoved it in the guys face, "Here eat it!"

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth was high as a helium balloon launched from Mount Fuji, but even he picked up on the traces of rage glittering in the big guy's eyes.

But all he said was, "I ate it, guy!" and attempted to grab the chocolate bar back. His hand hit Jake's and the bar smashed into the big guy's face, smearing chocolate over his nose.

Behind them, Luke swore softly. "I'm all for running right now," he muttered to James.

James nodded in agreement picking up his pace, James knew he could fight but this guy was twice his body weight.

The big guy grit his teeth at Jake and brought his fist back and released it, Jake quickly ducked and watched the guy's fist impact into the brick wall of some liquor store.

The guy nursed his fist, and Jake saw the blood coming from his knuckles, he turned and decided just as he heard Luke that they should run, so he took off, with James following behind him, grabbing a hold of Seth to tug him away before the guy found his second wind.

Seth let himself be tugged away. He found footing and broke out into a mad dash.

"Where to?" Luke panted up ahead. Seth groaned, remembering he was a newbie. He looked behind him. The big guy was chasing after them. Seth sincerely hoped he'd get bored.

"Left!" he called. "The park's just up - " he panted - "ahead."

Luke heard him and swerved left, ducking into the park and almost crashing into the stone fence surrounding it.

Seth dove behind the shrubbery nearby, shoving James, who was right in fornt of him, in headfirst. "Staw down!" he hissed loudly.

"No shit," he heard Luke reply. He glanced over to see Luke sprawled on his stomach behind another bush by Jake.

Jake glared at Seth he didn't want to talk to anyone or do anything except go back to the dorm.

James glared at Jake and Seth, his eyes still on Jake.

Before turning to walk away he walked up to Jake and glared at him.

James jabbed Jake in the chest with his fist. Jake grunted feeling the air get knocked out of him.

"I always get the last hit." James said, turning to leave a keeled over Jacob and the rest.

Jacob straightened and nearly went after James but he was just so annoyed he took out his frustration by knocking over a garbage can and heading towards the subway.

Seth glanced after Jake and ran a hand through his hair, unsure of what exactly to do. This night had turned out shockingly eventful.

"Um..." he began, turning to James, "Sorry, man, he's not normally like this. That girlfriend thing was low of him, but i think it was just the alcohol talking."

"James isn't normally like this," Luke interrupted before James could answer. He'd caught up to them and was now walking on James' other side, hands in his jacket pockets and head lowered.

He shot James an irritated glance. "Really, glass shards? That was lame, even for you. Can you not get the hell over it all? I thought you fixed things with her." Seth was admittedly surprised. Luke seemed like the peacemaker, but now he sounded genuinely pissed.

Seth thought about catching up to Jake and then thought better of it. He sped up anyways, figuring he'd keep an eye on his roommate before Jake accidentally killed a hobo out of rage. Seth left James and Luke behind, scanning ahead for Jake and keeping his dark head in his sight.

James stormed down the street he needed to calm down but he couldn't, his blood pumped and he kept clenching and unclenching his fists," Luke just don't talk to me right now okay? Or so help me I will give you another bruise to match the one on your face."

James was furious, he knew Evelyn would probably murder him for nearly killing her boyfriend, but he crossed a line and Jake was lucky Luke had been there otherwise he would have been panther chow.

Jake was so angry, he was angry at Seth being an ass and James hitting him last.

Although he didn't understand why he had let Seth get under his skin about all those Evelyn remarks. They weren't even dating! They didn't even like each other.

That James dude had another thing coming, he was going to make sure he made this guy's life a living hell.

[Tiger-Lily]

Luke rolled his eyes. He figured the nice thing to do would be to let James calm down, maybe help him calm down too.

But he was sick of this whole drama. They were in a whole new state, for God's sake. Couldn't they get away from all that highschool shit?

Luke silently cursed Evelyn in his head. And then figured that that wasn't fair. Evelyn had talked to James. She'd made an effort at moving on. And James had seemed pretty cooled down after that chat. So clearly it had gone well.

Then it was just James' inability to get the hell over her that was probably bothering him now. Luke took back his curse at Evelyn and aimed it at James instead.

He glanced ahead at Seth, who was now a couple feet behind Jake. And then he looked over at James, snorted clearly and said, "Right, because the anger is so going to get you over this. Seriously, grow up." He figured he might get punched so he ensured he was already a good three feet from James.

[Guest]

James figured he could just punch Luke in the face, but the thrill of that wore off after he did it the first time. Also he knew he'd come to hate himself for doing it later.

James just sighed shoving his bruised hands into his pockets, "Shut up Luke."

Jake could feel Seth behind him and just sped up, Seth was the last person he wanted to talk to.

Luke din't follow Seth and James to the subway, he turned left toward his apartment, figuring he could probably walk there if he had to.

Seth followed Jake down to the subway steps. The southbuond train roared in and they got on, headed back to school.
