"Something wrong with the beaches in Manhattan that we have to drive like nearly two hours away in traffic to Coney Island?" Jake said cutting to the chase, clearly annoyed.

"Yeah, have you seen how crowded they are?" Evelyn demanded. This was true enough. "There's always too many people here!" She paused and added with a sigh, "Look, you don't have to come if you don't want to..."

"Listen I'm sure because Ashton is too nice to say anything rude to a bunch of girls, he's being nice and driving you there, but gas doesn't grow on trees princess. Its crowded at all the beaches, and especially since Coney Island has an amusement park, its even more crowded." Jake informed Evelyn rudely.

Evelyn glowered and Carrie shot her a funny look.

"Fine, diva, you can go to whatever beach you want. Have fun with Seth," she said irritably, and hung up. "Ass."

"How on earth did you just get into a fight with him in about three seconds? That's a record even for you guys," Ashton remarked in the rearview mirror.

Jacob cursed tossing his phone into the passenger seat. Like hell if he was going to Coney Island to be surrounded by a bunch of idiots and watch them all hit on Evelyn. At this point he didn't care if he was alone, as Jake drove on down the street he pulled a U-Turn, and headed back towards the city.

If she wanted to go there that was fine, but he sure as hell wasn't going. Jake didn't feel like calling Seth, but he was only ten minutes or so from the beach nearby so he'd just text Seth when he got there.

Jacob pulled out behind Ashton and Seth, stepping on the fast to catch up to Seth, but he cast a glance to Evelyn and started to slow down.

He knew last time he did race, it upset Evelyn.

Evelyn lifted her glance out the window as Seth honked again, now several cars ahead. She frowned and shot Jake a sideways glance. Why wasn't he racing like a maniac?

Seth meanwhile, had switched lanes and slowed down in the middle lane next to Jake's car, rolling down his window. "What're you doing?" he called, as Evelyn rolled down her window at his gesture. "Don't wuss out, Sally!" Seth called over to him, smirking. Evelyn felt her lips twitch, amused. Seth made it sound like a life or death situation.

"Boo!" Seth called, rolling up his window and speeding up to overtake Jake's car right in front of him.

Evelyn frowned. "Liar," she muttered, rolling up her window and sending Jake a sidelong glance.

Jake did not appreciate being called a liar or booed at by Seth so before he could even think about it, Jake had slammed his foot on the gas pedal.

Swerving out of his lane and weaving into the left where he passed up a couple of cars so he was now next to Seth.

Evelyn gasped and grabbed onto the doorhandle, cringing. "Is there any point asking you to stop being a maniac?"

Seth quirked an eyebrow. Jake was sick? yeah right. He snorted and glanced at Antonio. "Jake's challenging us, Tigga! How dare he! I bet his wimpy ass is tryin' to impress his laday!" He winked at Antonio and honked his horn at the slow idiot trying to turn in front of him.

"Oh first I'm a liar? Now I'm a maniac." From the corner of his eye Jake saw an opening in the left lane and weaved out of the center speeding up. "Make up your mind woman." Jake said.

Evelyn frowned, swaying in her seat and grateful for her seat belt. "You're a maniac - this is fact And you've lied enough times," she added, but it was quieter.

Seth suddenly swerved into the middle lane and drew up alongside Jake, smirking through his window.

Evelyn had the sudden awful sense an argument was brewing. "Nothing. Look, that guy's asking for a way in front," she said quickly, pointing to the car in the next lane flashing its left rear lights.

Jacob saw the other car but instead of letting it get in front of him, he sped up his engine revving up as he blew past the car as the driver honked obnoxiously at Jake.

Seth had had the same idea and both their cars narrowly missed the red light as they sped over the line. Ashton slammed on his brakes though cringing as he watched the two ahead.

"Idiots," e muttered. Jake and Seth were now being honked angrily at by the drivers on the perpendicular lanes.

Seth was smirking and when he reached the other side of the intersection, turning to his window and flashed Jake a grin. Evelyn wondered if she should write out a will right about now.

"Just wondering, have you considered getting life insurance?" she asked Jake nonchalantly.

Evelyn tightened her grip on the door handle. "Why not?" she asked. "It'd mean a load of cash out of a potentially life-threatening situation."

Seth suddenly cut in front of them, nearly taking off Jake's front bumper. Evelyn stifled a surprised yelp behind her free hand, eyes wide. "W-what the hell!"

Jacob narrowed his eyes into a glare, freaking Seth nearly took out his bumper. So Jake sped up tailing right behind Seth as dangerously close as he could. "I don't think my life is worth that much, they'd probably deny me anyway." Just as Jake said that he swerved his car into the next lane to pull up next to Seth.

"Watch the mirrors!" Evelyn snapped at Jake, wincing as a car that had been in Jake's right blindspot honked loudly and the driver glared. Evelyn's hands flew up to her face and she sank low in her seat. "You're going to get us killed and by God I will haunt you forever in purgatory and follow you to hell and annoy you there!"

Seht laughed raucously, smirking at Antonio. "Loverboy's getting feisty," he commented.

Antonio had just nodded silently fearing for his life as he watched everything outside the windows blur past him.

"Yeah yeah, haunt me forever. Whatever I've heard it all before." Jake said as his Mustang roared down the crowded streets just as they came to their turn Jake hit the gas harder passing up Seth to his left and cutting him off by weaving in front of him.
