"A dance," he explained, opening his textbook. "It's like...well, it's just kind of a cross between hip-hop and uh....smustling? Seth was trying to teach Luce to flip in midair before that but ten Luce got pissed and tried to bite his hand off."

"That's nothing new." Alexis commented, messing with the band on her bookmark. "He's always trying to hurt someone." She muttered lowly, remembering his attack on her and Evelyn.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Never Seth though," Ashton said, finishing half his coffee. He sat up and leaned forward conspiratorially, eyes twinklin. "Don't tell Seth this 'cause he'll get offended, but I think Luce misses Jake. Jake was his main, uh, playmate and now he's gone and Luce has no one around to claw and bite the shit out of."

"He should take him to the hospital then. Plenty of people there." Alexis shrugged and took a drink of her coffee, not really wanting to talk about Jake, or any of the crowd. That's why she came here. To get away.

[Tiger-Lily]

"I like to keep the felonies to a limit," Ashton said, finishing his coffee and flicking to the correct page in his book. "It's either bailing people out of jail or getting lost somewhere in some random backwoods on the hunt for a Yeti."

Alexis opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed it at the last thing and frowned. "....Do...I..really wanna ask?"

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton cringed and his cheeks reddened slightly when he realized what he'd blurted out. He looked away from her and fiddled with his book's cover.

"Uh yeah, well, you know how they have those crazy conspiratorial theorists? There was something going around Scotland and Ireland about how Nessie is supposedly actually a Yeti and well, me and a bunch of my friends were doing that whole tour-of-Europe-after-graduation thing so of course, mix a bunch of stupid teenage boys with beer and a sense of reckless abandon and you get a basically pointless hunt for something that looks like a cross between Pedo Bear and a long-necked Barney."

"I..." Alexis trailed off and stared, her lips faintly twitching. "O-okay." She shook her head, and took the last drink of her coffee, planning to get another. "Sounds like a TV show.."

[Tiger-Lily]

"In case it wasn't bluntly obvious by my impaired hearing, I have terrible taste in friends," he informed her. He glanced at his empty cup and frowned. "I'm gonna get myself another. You want a refill?" He got to his feet.

"..Yeah. Thanks." Alexis said, nodding and glanced up at him before glancing back out the window, trying to figure out what to do when she went home.

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton grabbed her cup and his own, going to the counter to get a second batch of coffee for them both. He paid and walked back to their table, setting the cups down before taking his seat. "You all right?"

Alexis inhaled slowly. "Uh- yes. Just- some tings going on at home, nothing to worry about or bore your either or..." Alexis trailed off and gave a shrug instead. "Thanks."She said, taking the coffee.

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton nodded. He would be a terrible shrink anyways. His usual solution involved "buy headphones" since that was usually the only complaint he handled.

"So whatcha reading?" he asked to change the subject.

[JulietsCurse]

"Probably nothing you'd read, but it's called The Lovely Bones." Alexis replied, wanting off the subject too.

[Tiger-Lily]

"I....actually, I did read it," Ashton admitted. He had honestly for a second thought about lying and saying he hadn't. He grimaced and tapped his fingers on the table. "Uh....it was sort of along the way to reading things like My Sister's Keeper."

"You...read it? Really?" Alexis raised her eyebrow, curious as to why. "That's different from usual answers."

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton was really wishing he'd lied but he didn't really like to lie unless, oh, he was about to go to jail for something Seth had made him do. Ashton looked down at his book which he had tugged toward him, and flicked a page. "Uh, yeah...I...I like to read," he muttered, feeling his face redden some more.

"..What'd you think about it?" Alexis asked, sitting up and propped her elbows up on the table, then propping her chin in her hand, looking at him.

[Tiger-Lily]

Ashton felt kind of stupid now. But he figured, what the hell, it wasn't a bad book. "I liked it," he confessed. "But I sometimes felt like it was overdone. Like, everything that could possibly go wrong, did. Life isn't that terrible."

"Ah, yeah, like her mother turning into a whore. It seemed a bit dry at times too." Alexis commented bluntly about the first part and took a sip of her coffee. "Death of a loved one doesn't always make everyone turn into people they're not."

[Tiger-Lily]

"Why do people always whore around then they go through something terrible? Like, dude, your life already sucks, why add on additional shit and guilt?" Ashton wondered, sipping his latte.

[JulietsCurse]

"And even more emotional pain to the man you supposedly loved, even though he's already shutting down and going slightly mad. What the fuck is that?" Alexis added with a shake of her head.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Maybe it's the thrill of a new romance?" Ashton hypothesized. "I mean, why the hell else would she go after that Led dude, or whoever. I forget his name. The detective."

[JulietsCurse]

"He was ugly in the movie too, so that's stuck in my head." Alexis pointed out with an amused tone.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Len Ugglypin," Ashton snickered absently, finishing half his latte. "Man, I'm hungry," he said absently. "Seth was too busy torturing the cat to cook anything and uh...he's no longer doing those marathon breakfast buffets anymore..." He hastily added on, "So, anyways, Alexis, aside from being a reader, what else do you do?"
