Seth replied by putting two fingers in the corners of his mouth and stretching it into an ugly face at Lola. Carrie giggled.

"NO! JACOB! I WILL KILL YOU! I SWEAR I WILL!" Evleyn shrieked instantly as she kicked and wriggled. "I'm WEARING MY CLOTHES!"

This comment earned them both several amused glances from people around them and Evelyn blushed bright red, before she resumed attemping to smack her fists on Jake's back. "THIS IS MY FAVOURITE CARDIGAN!"

Lola decided if Seth was gonna act like he was five years old so was she. So Lola crossed her eyes and stretched out her ears puffing up her cheeks into an ugly face right back at Seth.

"Smack all you want on my rippling back muscles Red, but your fate has been decided!" Jake shouted to Evelyn as he marched on towards the dock.

[Tiger-Lily]

There was a shutter snap and Seht looked aorund, confused.

Carrie shoved her phone behind her back, whistling innocently. He glared.

"Oh you did not!"

She smiled sheepishly. "That was just asking to be framed on someone's wall! Or you know...Facebook Wall?"

"I will NEVER talk to you AGAIN!" Evelyn threatened him, feeling her body start to quiver in terror all over. She punched his shoulder but it did nothing.

Oh God, he wouldn't do this. He was joking...right?! Her breath began to come in panicky pants.

So Evelyn did the next best thing and leaning over as well as she could, bit Jake in the neck hard.

Jacob had not been expecting that at all, he winced letting out a moan almost dropping Evelyn in the process. He set her down and rubbed his neck. "Ahh Jesus Red." Although admittedly he was never opposed to girls biting him although he was sure Evelyn's purpose wasn't to get him hot and bothered.

Lola looked over at Carrie and smiled sheepishly. "Well that's embarrassing."

[Tiger-Lily]

Seth smirked. "For you maybe. I look good whatever I do!"

Evelyn squeaked when her feet met the floor and she staggered, blinking in confusion. Jake hadn't exactly screamed like she'd expected him to. He'd...moaned?

She stared up at him. "Are you - did you - are you okay?" she asked uncertainly.

"Its sad only you share that opinion of yourself, but whatever helps you sleep at night." Lola said patting Seth's shoulder.

"I uh... I'm fine." Jake said turning away from Evelyn, he was really embarrassed. He couldn't believe that he had done that. Damn he really needed to get laid.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Oh, no, that's not what helps me sleep at night," Seth said with a roguish wink and Carrie stifled a laugh again.

Evelyn watched him, trying to backtrack to three seconds ago. "Sorry, I - um...didn't mean to hurt you or anything - I just..." She stopped, a cold seeping sensation enveloping her.

She was standing less than three feet from the edge of the dock. Evelyn swallowed and stumbled away, feeling ill. She felt momentarily stupid but shook it off. Reaching out, she grabbed Jake's hand, more to steady herself than anything because her mind was reeling in panic mode. "C-can we just, um, get away from th-the edge?"

Lola rolled her eyes but couldn't help but laugh. "You pig."

Jake grabbed Evelyn's hand, pulling her away from the edge and sort of leading her back towards the pier. "Yeah sure, don't need you falling into the ocean, I'll never hear the end of that."

[Tiger-Lily]

"I'll have you know I'm the neatest male specimen you'll ever be lucky enough to meet!" Seth exclaimed, smacking Lola's hand as he got up to flex his arm.

As he led her along, Evelyn shot Jake a sideways glower. Then smirked to herself. "No,, you would not. I'd guilt-trip you about it on your deathbed."

[Guest]

"Although face it you wouldn't exactly end up in your death bed because of jumping off a ledge, you'd die of the fear of just being near it." Jake told Evelyn as he walked alongside her.

"Well you are clean I'll give you that, but meeting you was the unluckiest day of my life." Lola stated

[Tiger-Lily]

"Pssht," Seth said dismissively, not pausing to examine his arm. Carrie had her fist stuffed in her mouth to stifle laughter.

"You adored me the instant you met me," Seth said. "You totally fell at my feet."

Evelyn's grip on Jake's hand tightened warningly and she considered shoving him facedown into the sand. Restraining herself, she smiled sweetly up at him. "Don't worry, I'll tell your mother your dying wish was to conquer your fear of centipedes and to fill your coffin with them." She smirked, looking ahead. "I bet that'll make for a fun trip to Hell."

"That's because you tripped me!" Lola yelled at Seth.

Jacob shuddered at that thought. "Don't even think about it, cause if you do that I'll make sure your coffin is dropped from the Empire State Building."

[Tiger-Lily]

"Well, I'd be dead and in Heaven like the angel I am," Evelyn retorted smugly, batting her lashes at Jake and swinging their linked hands to emphasize her "innocence".

"I did no such thing," Seth defended himself, while Carrie doubled over with laughter in the background. "You swooned over me!" He tutted down at Lola, eyes dancing. "With Rye Bread right there too."

[Guest]

"Please you're as innocent as Satan himself." Jake snorted, trying not to get caught in her gaze.

"Are you kidding me?! You so did trip me, Jake introduced us and then you tripped me I fell flat on my face and chipped my tooth!" Lola argued with Seth.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Well," Seht paused, "I wouldn't call that tripping, per se. More like, Jake introduced you to me and then I may have accidentally introduced you to the floor..."

Carrie was laughing so hard now, her eyes were tearing.

"I resent that," Evleyn exclaimed, tugging Jake to a stop with an offended look on her face. She felt a flash of devilishness rise in her and gave into it.

Smirking up at Jake, she reached up to place both hands on his shoulders (he inconveniently did not have a shirt on), and used it to stand on his feet as a footstand. Rising on her tiptoes, she brought her face inches from his and exhaled a little, unnerved when she felt his breath on her lips. "You of all people would know I'm fairly innocent, Jacqob," she purred, and just for fun, accented his name just like "Hot French Girl" would.

Jacob was stunned for a minute he was unable to speak or even think clearly. "I uh..." He swallowed the only thing he could hear was the waves crashing up against the pier and his heart beating in his ears. Being this close to her always made it so hard for him, and right now he almost gave in to kiss her.

"You're always torturing me. Which I don't get because honestly I was fairly nice to you when we met." Lola said, wondering if torture was the only way Seth expressed any kind of emotion or if he was just deranged.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Nu uh, you were annoying!" Seht reflected. "Always thinking you were so much more maturer than me!" He scoffed. "When clearly your taste in men was already questionable."


Carrie stopped watching momentarily, her gaze caught by something, someone, else.

Evelyn hesitated for a second, forgetting exactly what she was doing - why was she standing on Jake's toes again? - and her eyes latched onto his. She could read him easily enough by now. It was fairly obvious what he wanted and a part of her ached in response. She couldn't risk it, she wouldn't risk it. "Jake," she said weakly, hating the reluctance in her voice. There should be no hesitation. They were friends, damn it!

She pulled away from him, stepping back onto the boardwalk and it was suddenly much easier to breathe as the rest of the world came into focus again. She swallowed, looking away. "Looks like Seth and Lola are at it again."

"I certainly was not annoying! And toddlers are more mature than you are." Lola replied.

Jake felt relieved like he could breathe again, but it wasn't like he didn't miss Evelyn being that close to him. He scratched his head hearing Lola's and Seth's voice and let out a light laugh. "Yeah I guess they are, lets uh go see the show." He said letting Evelyn walk in front of him as they made their way back to the others.

[Tiger-Lily]

"At least toddlers don't run aorund with beer spilled all over their clothes," Seth accused Lola.

Evelyn took Jake's cue and walked silently over to Lola, Seth and Carrie.

Lola and Seth didn't seem to notice her or Jake but Carrie shot her a knowing look, a smile on her lips.

Evelyn felt her whole body flush in embarrassment. She half wanted to call out to Carrie and say she'd misunderstood...whatever she'd seen. That had just been teasing. Nothing more.

But she didn't want to dwell on that awkward moment so she said nothing, simply watching Seth and Lola's bickering as she stood silently.

"When did I ever spill beer all over myself! I don't even like beer!" Lola flailed, not aware of Jake there.

Jacob wasn't paying attention to Lola or Seth either he just sat on his towel and traced circles in the sand.

[Tiger-Lily]

"Ahem," Carrie tried to intervene but Seth rolled on.

"You do o! You get tipsy after like half a glass! You're more lightweight than Jake's baby cousin!"

Evelyn settled down on her towel, keeping her eyes firmly off Jake and snatching up her book. She hastily buried her face in it as Carrie shot her a studying look.

[Guest]

"Oh whatever!" Lola said rolling her eyes. "You're giving me a headache Andreasis." Lola said sitting down not feeling like arguing with him.

[Tiger-Lily]

"You're giving me migraines when I don't even get migraines!" Seht exclaimed, sitting down on Jake's other side huffily. "Stupid female," he muttered so only Jake heard. He glanced over at the Spaniard. "Oh, how was cliff-diving or whatever you were doing?" He nudged Jake wiht a girn. "I see you brought back a siren."

[Guest]

Jake looked up from the sand, "Huh? Yeah it was fun." He didn't really catch the "siren" part of Seth's question.

Seth blinked. "It was?" he asked, glancing up at Evelyn. She didn't really look so thrilled. Seth nudged Jake. "ooh, you sly dog, what'd you do, huh?"
