Re: Lower Manhattan - Beach
Jake clenched his jaw , and sort of took out his phone to check the time. He loked at all of them and asked. "Okay fine then who is going with who then?" He asked so they could figure out the rides, although he wasn't entirely thrilled.

"Well, we don't have to go," Ashton said, noticing Jake's demeanor. "We can grab grub at home. Do you want to just do the same ride thing?" he asked. "Unless anyone wants to ride with you and Seth...?" He looked at the three girls and his brother.
Evelyn, remembering Jake's Car Chicken game, took a subtle step back from him.
"Tigger!" Seth exclaimed, swinging an arm around him. "Ride with me! We'll leave the losers eating dust!"

Antonio grinned, "Looks like I'm going with Seth then."
Jake shrugged, taking out his keys. "Alright then lets go."

They headed toward their respective cars, Seth bounding.
Carrie nudged Evelyn as they walked. Evelyn stopped glaring at Jake's back and looked up. "Huh?"
"Why on earth are you mad?" Carrie asked, baffled. "You were all sunshine and cozy five minutes ago!"
Evelyn frowned. "Was not. He's a douchebag!"
"He's a guy," Carrie countered. "If anything, he's probably a lot more decent than the rest of his friends." Evelyn, who was on Facebook on her iPhone, removed her finger off the Defriend button on Jake's Profile page, still frowning.
Carrie nudged her again. "Seriously, if you guys are doing the friends thing, this stuff shouldn't bother you, right?"
Evelyn flinched. "Right..." She felt her cheeks warm.
"Awesome," Carrie commented and before Evleyn could stop her, she was yelling, "HEY! JACOB!"

Jacob had turned when he heard Carrie call out, "Yes?" He asked her.

"DO YOU WANT A PASSENGER?" Carrie yelled to him across the parking lot. Evelyn suddenly caught on and her cheeks burned.
"No!" she hissed, turning and following Lola and Ashton. "Let's just - "
Carrie grabbed her shoulders and gave her a shove toward Jake. "EV WOULD LIKE TO RIDE WITH YOU SINCE YOU'RE FRIENDS NOW AND ALL!"
Ashton looked around and quirked an eyebrow, amused. "Someone take a picture of Jake's face," he muttered to Lola.

Re: Lower Manhattan - Beach
Jake's eyes widened and he reached to grab Evelyn as she sort of was shoved into him. He ignored the familiar jolt he got whenever he touched her and cleared his throat. "I uh, come on." He said to her letting her go.

"But I don't - " Evelyn began quickly, glaring at Carrie and then Ashton as he stifled a laugh. "I'll just, uh..."
"Bye!" Carrie chirped, speeding up to catch up with Ashton and Lola. Ashton shook his head.
"What are the odds we see Jake before midnight?" he asked Lola.
Evelyn swallowed, not wanting to make a scene but god damn it, she didn't want to ride in Psycho Jake's car!
She groaned under her breath and followed him silently, wrapping her arms around herself to keep out the cold seeping in through her thin cardi. A cruel April breeze ruffled her wet hair and she sneezed as they neared the Mustang.

Re: Lower Manhattan - Beach
Jacob felt guilty for making her walk around in her flimsy outfit. As he got into his car he turned it on and put the heat on for her so she'd stay warm and not catch cold.
Lola snorted looking back at Jake's car."Knowing them they'll probably end up at a different building."

"That's sad," Carrie commented. "They're just being incredibly stupid."
Ashton snorted. "Stupid is the definition of Seth and Jake." He unlocked his car and they got in.
***
Evelyn silently sat herself in Jake's car, relieved as the heater started up. She held her hands out to it and sat back in her seat, closing her eyes. She wasn't going to let this get more awkward than it already was.

"What ate you gonna do about it?" Lola said, sighing as she got into Ashton's car.
***
Jake reached over into his back seat grabbing a blanket he had packed to take home from the dorms and handed it to Evelyn. "Here so you don't freeze."

Re: Lower Manhattan - Beach
"Like I was saying, Lola," Carrie commented from the backseat. "Lock 'em somewhere."
"Didn't that not work before?" Ashton recalled. "And we only have one day before Evelyn and Jake separate." The car warmed up, he headed out of the parking lot and toward Greenwich.
***
Evelyn opened her eyes, feeling a soft bundle in her arms. She blinked and looked up at Jake, clutching the blanket and spreading it over herself. She turned her gaze out the window, a slight frown between her eyebrows. "Um, thanks." Oh God, this is painful! I hate Carrie! What the hell do I do now?
At that second, Seth's GTR breezed past, honking at the Mustang as Seth flashed Jake a smirk, leaning aorund Tony. "C'mon, Lover boy! Show us whatcha got!" Seth howled, pulling onto the street as Ashton's car followed.
