Ashton broke free adn snickered, splashing a wave of water onto Lola when she resurfaced. "You would drown in a kiddy pool," he informed her smugly.

After five minutes, Seth risked a glance back at the shore. And then he grinned wide.

Evelyn, who had made no move toward Jake's towel, was now sitting up. She was smiling, Seth oculd see even from the distance betweent hem.

Seth swam for a bit and then glanced back to see what exactly had her so amused.

She was watching Antonio, who seemed to have tripped over the remains of Ashton's hardened fort. Seth couldn't stop a laugh because Antonio was now caked in sand. "Good ol' Tony" he chirped to Jake as they raced along. "Always count on him to cheer up yo gurl."

"You all right there, Tony?" Evelyn asked sympathetically, struggling to hide her laughter.

Lola splashed Ashton back. "Hey I'm not that short!"

Antonio shook his feet dropping his towel down, "Yeah although I think I broke some kids ugly sand castle I'm sure they'll thank me for it later though." Antonio grinned at Evelyn.

Jacob looked back for a moment and could see Antonio and Evelyn. The both of them smiling. Jake didn't like that, but he knew that him stomping up the beach to punch Antonio wasn't going to exactly be what friends were supposed to do. Which is what him and Evelyn were.

Although he didn't want to, Jake felt his good mood fade as he kept going on. "Whatever." Jake muttered to Seth going underwater so he wouldn't have to see them.

Evelyn had to physically restrain herself from laughing at this. She had her hand clamped over her mouth and a few muffled laughs escaped. "Tony," she managed to say, "That was Ashton's sandcastle thing - well, until Seth took over." She stretched her legs out on her towel and fumbled around in her bag for her book with one hand.

Seth slipped underwater again and reached over, tickling Jake's foot with a strand of seaweed as he edged past the Spaniard.

"You're about as tall as my elbow," Ashton guessed, which was an exaggeration. "Or maybe my waist." He spat out water and rubbed a hand over his wet face.

"Oh well that explains it, ugly kid, ugly designs." Antonio snorted he said taking a seat on Lola's towel and yelping as he sank into the sand. "What the hell?!"

"I'll have you know, you tree. That I am of average height for a girl meaning I am not short so ha!" Lola said making a face at Ashton and flicking water at him.

Jacob startled by whatever had tickled his foot extended his leg out kicking roughly behind him to get rid of the thing.

Evelyn couldn't resist, She burst out laughing uncontrollably, using her book to shield it but it was plainly obvious. "Oh my God, I wish I had that on camera!" she exclaimed, wiping away a tear of mirth. She dissolved into laughter again, stuffing a fist over her mouth to muffle it. "Do you need help?"

Seht got a face full of Jake's foot and yelped underwater, smacking Jake's feet away. He grabbed the Spaniard's ankle and yanked him down in punishment, speeding up toward the finish line.

"Well, see, girls are shrimpy by nature. So you're still stumpy in my world," Ashton declared logically, ducking underwater and tackling Lola around the waist when she couldn't quite see him.

Antonio laughed trying to prop himself out of the mini hole. "Nothing says summer like a butt full of sand. Don't worry I'm fine." He said to Evelyn.

Lola stifled a yelp as Ashton came after her. "Yeah well being a giant means you're not as stealthy." Lola said shoving his head under.

Jacob flailed falling under as Seth had yanked him down, he got down to the surface springing himself up out of the water, he took a deep breath glancing back at shore again now he could see Evelyn and Antonio laughing.

Jake grit his teeth, and tried even harder to keep himself from swimming back. He looked and saw Seth's head nearing the finish line and decided to finish the race. He dove forward pulling himself faster and faster.

As he swam though, he scraped his leg on something and could feel the salt water stinging his leg. But he knew it was nothing probably scratched his leg on a rock or something, although even though his leg hurt the only thing he could think about was Antonio and Evelyn.

Thanks to Jake's momentary distraction, Seth's hand touched the safety line seconds earlier than the Spaniard's. He grinned and took off toward shore again. "Better get there quick, Sally!" he called to Jake.

Ashton floundered in the water rather clumsily, smacking hsi hand on the sandy bottom and choking on the sandy water that preceded it. He surfaced and gagged. "Ew, I think I swallowed a crab."

He grabbed his throat and choked, eyes going wide as he gasped for air. "Oh shit that - agh!"

He dropped his hands and gasped for air. "Somethiing's - moving - in - my - throat!" His eyes rolled up into hsi head and he dropped back into the water on his back.

Evelyn shook her head and got up, secretly admiring Seth's handiwork as she dusted down her one-piece and strode over the Antonio. She held out a hand. "Here, dainty princess, let me help you before you end up stung by a desert scorpion and your butt swells. Then we'll be here for days."

"Girls like big butts." Antonio smirked, grabbing Evelyn's hand and standing up out of the hole.

"Oh my god!!" Lola freaked out, not sure what to do! "Did you really swallow a crab oh my god!!" She panicked trying to give him the Hemlich.

"Help someone he's choking!" Lola yelled trying to help Ashton.

Jake groaned he stayed at the safety line not really caring to finish the race, his damned leg was bothering him, but he didn't want to stick around here and get caught by a current or something.

So he slowly paddled his way back to shore.

Evelyn yanked Antonio up, tutting. "I think that's supposed to be the other way around," she reminded him, ensuring he was standing upright. "Can I let go or you have somewhere else you want to sprawl onto first?"

Seth was halfway to shore when he realized Jake was way behind. He glanced back at him and then at shore and froze. What the hell was Evelyn doing holding Antonio's hand? He shook it off. It was nothing. Antonio wasn't stupid. Seth paused, treading water as he floated there. "SALAZAAAAR!" he announced, hoping to catch Jake's attention before the Spaniard saw her.

Ashton meanwhile, had popped his head up when Lola lifted him out of the water to give him the damned Heimlich. He choked and coughed - and then started laughing maniacally, great guffawing laughs that shook his body uncontrollably. "Oh man, that - that was so good! I totally got you!" he exclaimed, laughing again.

Lola gaped wordlessly at Ashton letting him go, she couldn't believe that he would do something like that! "You, you idiot!" Lola finally managed to say smacking him. "I thought you were dying!"

Antonio let Evelyn go and dusted himself off. "I'll just sprawl out by whoever's stuff thanks for helping me out though." Antonio said going over to where Carrie's towel was and lay his stuff out there.

Jake had seen Antonio holding Evelyn's hand though, and was going to charge out of the water but his stupid leg was still bothering him. The water was about to waist now so instead of swimming Jake stood upright sort of limping back. "What do you want Seth?" He asked him, as he approached him.

Ashton grinned, rubbing his head. "You gotta admit, that was a good one!" he said cheekily. "Now I know what to do next time I want a pretty girl to give me her undivided attention." Before she oculd kill him, he dove underwater and began swimming away.

Evelyn shook her head and sat down on her own towel, crossing her legs Indian style and picking up her book again. She pulled her scrunchie off to let her hair dry as it fell in wet tangles down her back. "Why on earth were you sitting on Lola's towel anyway?" she asked, not bothering to replace the towel over Seth's creative prank.

Seth eyed hake in amusement as they walked up the beach toward their spot. "What happened to you, House?"

"Well you were talking to me so I figured I'd be nice and sit near you so we could talk like normal people instead of shouting, but we all know what happened there." Antonio smiled at Evelyn.

Jake flinched, narrowing his eyes at Antonio and Evelyn. He looked down at Seth and huffed. "Cut my leg on a rock." He answered.

Lola had picked up a shell wanting to toss it at Ashton as he swam away but instead she swam after him, she had managed to get close enough to him that she yanked at his bathing suit tossing the shell in there. Sure it wasn't as creative as Ashton's choking bit, but Lola felt somewhat better about it.

Although she was unaware that inside that shell was a crab that was pretty mad for having been disturbed, and as revenge it clamped its claws on Ashton's butt.

Evelyn was about to reply to ANtonio but a scream cut her off.

She looked up to see Ashton flailing about in the water. "THERE'S SOMETHING STUCK TO MY BUTT - OWWWWW IT FREAKING BIT ME!" he howled, dancing in the water as he yanked on his shorts.

Evelyn struggled to hold back more laughter, no longer gloomy. She grinned up at Antonio. "I need to hang with you guys in Italy. You're better than cable."

Seth, who had paused as he watched Ashton in amusement, caught this and raised his eyebrows. "Poor Clone A," he remarked, walking on to sit down on his towel.

Ashton, meanwhile, was still giving yelps of pain as he swam around madly. "GERROFME! OWWW!"

Lola rolled her eyes at Ashton. "Oh quit being a drama queen, its just a shell." Was he really trying to pull another trick, well she wasn't gonna fall for it.

Antonio was cracking up watching Ashton swim around like he was on fire. "Oh man this is too great!"

Jake heard Ashton and couldn't help cracking a smile, he sure looked funny. He stepped out onto shore hobbling back over to his towel, he sat down and examined his leg.

"It's a CRABBB!" Ashton yelled to Lola in panic, flailing and slapping at his shorts. He felt like his butt was on fire, like somethign had sunk fangs into him. "God damn it!"

A final slap, and to his relief, when he yanked his swimming trunks away from him, the clamping bite released. He wriggled his swim trunks a bit more, half taking them off in the sandy water and to his relief, saw the tiny dark shape float away. "Oh my God - it was a CRAB!"

He pulled his swim trunks up properly, and bolted for shore.

Evelyn was doubled over laughing now as she watched Ashton alongside the other boys.

"You go, Ash!" Seth called happily, chuckling. He reached over and arranged Lola's towel carefully over the hole in the ground so it was completely covered again.

Evelyn glanced up from Ashton and her eyes flicked momentarily to Jake after he'd sat down. She glanced at his leg and hesitated before getting up and tromping through the sand over to the other end of their row of towels, since he was at the extreme end of it. She paused beside him, reaching down to poke the back of his bent head lightly with two fingers. "Shark attack, hero? Who'd you save this time, endangered catfish?"

Lola's jaw dropped, so Ashton hadn't been lying! And she wouldn't have believed him until she saw that tiny crab herself swim away. Lola finally burst out into laughter as she followed back behind him to shore. "Oh my god! I had no ide--ha ha ha!" Lola couldn't even finish her sentence.

Jacob had been laughing at Ashton while he looked at his leg, when he heard a familiar voice overhead. He looked up meeting Evelyn's eyes and he straightened. "Uh no more like getting away from something." He said.

Ashton glowered, face flushing red in embarassment as he returned to his towel, rubbing his butt occasionally. Seth rolling around on the sand laughing his head off wasn't helpful.

"Shut up," Ashton snapped at him and ANtonio as he sat down and continued rubbing the ache on his bum.

Evelyn glanced up and grinned at this before looking back down at Jake. "How manly of you. What happened?" she asked, taking a seat on the end of his towel near his feet and dusting stray sand off her wet swimsuit. She saw sand sticking to her wet mane and rejoiced in the thoughts of a warm shower at home.

Lola tried hard to contain her laughter, she sat down at the end of Ashton's towel. "I'm sorry I really am, I didn't know that crab was there." She felt kind of bad for doing that now, but it still didn't change that it was funny.

"I was racing with Seth and I scratched my leg on a rock. No big deal." Jake said with a shrug poking at the scratch. As far as he was concerned, the whole Evelyn and Antonio thing didn't happen.

"My butt refuses to accept your apology," Ashton informed Lola stubbornly, wincing in pain as he shifted. "Maybe after I've sat in a bucket of ice, it'll be more forgiving."

Seth had given a disappointed groan when Lola didn't sit on her own towel. he leaned over to Antonio and muttered, "Soo damn close."

Evelyn tilted an eyebrow at Jake, aand then glanced around, spotting Carrie walking back up hte beach. Evelyn turned back to him and got up, going over to her bag to pull out a pack of Kleenex. She tossed it onto Jake's lap silently, prodded his head with a finger and walked back to her own towel just as Carrie sat down on hers.

"Cute lifeguard," she informed Evelyn, and then pulled a face, "He thought Ashton was drowning so he ran off and by the time he came back, I got bored."

Seth snickered. Ashton looked guilty at this. Evelyn tutted, really wishing she had a camea as a cold wind whipped around ehr bare shoulders. It was slowly getting dark now. She reached into her bag and pulled out the white cardigan she'd worn, slipping it on over her bathing suit and retying her hair up.

Seth had his phone in hand, examining the photos he'd taken of Ashton dancing around, along with a video. "This is Youtube Gold."

Antonio raised an eyebrow at Seth, "Oh you're the one who dug that hole under the towel! Dude I sat there for a second and my butt practically sank down to hell." Antonio squawked loudly.

Lola looked over at Antonio. "What?" She asked him.

"Yeah! There's like a gapping hole under your towel and I sank down into it." Antonio informed her, then realized that he probably wasn't supposed to say anything when he saw Seth's face. "Oops."

Lola had picked up her towel seeing the large hole that would she would have sank into if she sat on it, and narrowed her eyes at Seth. "Ass." She mumbled, picking up her towel and tote and going to set her stuff down by Jake instead.

After Jacob spent some time cleaning his cut he figured he'd be alright since it wasn't leaking blood anymore. Although now he was starting to get bored, he remembered there had been a kind of high dock somewhere down the beach and decided he'd go jumping. "I'm going to jump off the dock." He announced getting up off his towel, he looked at Seth. "Wanna come?"

Seth, who was busy glaring at Antonio, answered, "Nah, I'm gonna go grab a drink. If I can find one." He got up and headed down to the row of K-mart type shops along the boardwalk.

"Wonder if they have smoothies?" Evelyn thought aloud. Ashton nodded at her.

"There's this one place that sells fruit smoothies. They actually don't taste completely fake," he said. She brightened.

"Works for me!" Getting to her feet, Evelyn yanked her shorts on under hr white cardigan and looked around at everyone else. "Anyone want a drink? You'll have to come along." She reached for her tote and rifled through it before pulling out a ten and handing it to Lola. "Oh, except you. I owe you one," she added.

Carrie shook her head. Ashton coughed. "I think I've had enough liquid to last me a while," he muttered.

"Oh I had forgotten, thanks though you didn't have to." Lola said but then she looked over at the disgruntled looking Ashton and took the ten. "On second thought, maybe I'll go get some ice for Ashton's butt." She said stifling a giggle, and getting up she reached into her tote finding her hoodie and pulling it on over her bathing suit.

"I'm going swimming before it gets cold." Antonio said getting up to go into the water.

Jacob shrugged at Seth, but remembered where he wanted to go was near by the smoothie place, so he just started walking over there, he figured he'd get something like a smoothie later.

"Don't drown, Tony!" Evelyn called after him instinctively, and Carrie and Ashton pretended not to laugh. Ashton got up and followed his twin.

Evelyn pulled a face and headed down the boardwalk with Lola, shivering slightly. "I wasn't kidding," she commented. "Tigger's on a dangerous accident streak today."
